Buju Banton Speaks For The First Time Since Return - Onstage March 14 2020

Within a year of his release Buju Banton after 10 years in U.S. custody has reclaimed his place in the upper echelon of Dancehall and Reggae. In March of 2019 Banton's 'Long Walk To Freedom' concert in Kingston, not only made history by raming Jamaica's National Stadium to capacity he also made an epic return to live performance.
The Freedom Walk went on to sell out venues across the Caribbean, Europe and Africa and before 2019 was out Buju Banton conquered perhaps the biggest fete in his walk, that of making hit records once again.
BUt how did he preserve himself, his talent, his soul over all hese years.
We had the privilege of a one on one with Buju Banton and though he understandably had no desire to recall those dreaded years of his life, he was however very direct in speaking of his preservation and return, the state of Jamaica's music, his relentless passion to raise the standard of the music and so much more.

He has served his time and want to move on from what could be such a traumatic experience for him and his family..... suh mek wi honour it and look out for his Album due to drop on my birthday May 5 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾. Richard Mcintosh Definitely not hating. This is about his music, not for me to judge his character. He’s managed to generate a cult following as an artist but to say top 3 all time Jamaican artist up there with Bob and so many other greats. Hell no!! Not even top 3 in dancehall because dancehall music actually plummeted on a worldwide stage on his watch. He’s more hype than substance.

I tell you. Heralding the Word. We are none of us perfect in this world. But we must learn and teach wisdom from our mistakes so self and others don't repeat said mistakes. Man who made dancehall most notorious song "BOOM BYE BYE'. Man who caused women to start bleach "BROWNING", Man who made youths in foreign to start think differently "DEPORTEE"...And the list goes on. Then, he turned Ras and most of dancehall became conscious ( Sizzla, Capleton, Garnett Silk, Luciano) mid to late 90s, with songs like Murderer, Til Shiloh...FACTS. That's why he is the greatest! Let's look at him to day and see the change he make in his life, he learn from his prison experience... If you hate him or you don't like him then leave him alone.
