Just purchased this gun in 45 ACP Commander size. Could not believe the quality of materials on this gun for the price I paid. Just incredible value. I am not a 45 ACP guy. I don't carry 45's nor have I ever wanted to. I am a confirmed 9mm shooter and EDC. But this gun has opened my eyes to the capability of the 45 ACP. Everything about it screams quality and shootability. I am proud to now be a part of the 45 crowd.

Phenomenal weapon. Definitely putting this on my wish list. I deviated from my 1911 affection for a time, trying to adapt to the polymer, striker fired pistols of today, and finally regained my senses. It started when I picked up a SA EMP in 40 S&W. Now I have its smaller brother in 9mm, and I’m back. This is just another “I gotta get me one” firearm. Thanks Sootch.

The Wilson Combat flat wire spring and guide rod kit is a great upgrade for it. Better spring and no need for the "take down tool".
@carlosaquiles992 жыл бұрын
Would you need a bushing with that kit? I checked it out on the WC Page, but not sure how to eliminate the use of the paper clip with that upgrade.
@richardkiser32282 жыл бұрын
@@carlosaquiles99 there is not a hole in the rod for the paper clip. You hold the pistol with your thumb on the palm safety and with your hand over the slide. You move the slide back to line the slide stop to the disassembly hole push out the pin. Let the slide go forward and then you can take out the WC guide rod and spring. I can do it with my 65 year old hands no problem.

As usual, a super review. Thx! You asked for input for any possible "cons" on the weapon. I have only two: (1) ambidextrous safety should be basic issue; (2) blacked out sights have inherent detriments. I could add a number (3) for the calibre, but each to his/her own on that. If recoil is an issue, then yeah, you should remain with the nine. Excellent review as usual.

I just ordered one in .45, I was going to get a Bul or the Magnum Research Government size but the Bul version is impossible find right now and the MR rebrand is limited too and what's out there is around $1,000 after shipping, taxes and fees. I already have a Government size 1911 DW Valor (Black) anyway, should've done it awhile ago when Bul/MR 1911s could be had for around $700. I'm sticking with .45 though because I found one about $100 less than the 9mm versions I saw (yeah, that would even out and beyond with the cheaper ammo) and I also I don't feel like buying more magazines. I originally wanted a stainless 1911 so at least I finally got one.

@TietLung2 жыл бұрын
I may have to pick one of these up. Id prefer in 45, but at the price ive seen them for, i can get one of each caliber lol. With the size of my hands though, 45 is just easier for me to load in the mags. I load my own ammo, especially with the prices now, and my 185 grain jhp loads going about 1150fps dont recoil much at all and are still standard pressure and safe for most any stock 1911. My daughter has no issue shooting them in her 1911, and shes just barely over 100 pounds. But she also shoots my 454 casull and loves it so shes a poor judge of if recoil is harsh lol

Bul is great I had this model for a while but eventually sold it. Nothing has been able to match my Springy A1 Loaded model. Every single surface has been attended to. The Bul had some machining marks inside I wasn't a fan of and it had FTEs and FTFs in the first few hundred rounds but broke in just fine. That said, I'd highly recommend 2 or 3 other brands in the same price point that don't look as flashy BUT perform better.

Hi Bill. I’m looking for my 1st 1911 in .45 ACP. I would appreciate hearing your recommendations with a maximum price point of $1,200.00. Thanks in advance!
@billdoetree43132 жыл бұрын
@@lazarusrize well I can only tell you from experience that I love Springfield and they come in well under that price point. You can also go with Colt which has had some issues but only had nothing but great guns from them. I've also surprisingly had good experience with the company called Rock Island armory. They are inexpensive Filipino made 1911s and honestly the fit and quality is right up there with better brands. The only thing something like Springfield or Colt would offer you is perhaps a better barrel and better ballistics or better finishes and customizations. Can't go wrong with any of them though. I just picked up a Colt lightweight Commander for $1,000 and put 200 rounds through it without a single issue. Very impressed with that gun most recently but I also have a 20 something year old Springfield 1911 that has had tens of thousands of rounds through it with just a couple recoil springs and magazine changes over the years. Those are just the brands I've had personal experience with but I am sure there are other good ones like Ed Brown or Wilson combat. For your price range you may find a used Wilson Combat or upper end brand but personally can't go wrong with a new Springfield or Colt or get yourself a pair of those Rock Islands LOL.
