This classic song was written by Kazi Nazrul Islam who is the national poet of Bangladesh. He stayed quite a few months in a landlord's house at Becharam Dewri Road in Old Dhaka. Inside the big arena of that house there was a beautiful flower garden. Nazrul observed beautiful black birds called “Bulbuli” always play around in the garden. So one day he wrote this amazing melodious song maybe in 1926. And the songs written by Nazrul Islam called Nazrul Geeti have a separate patent in Bangali songs.Firoza Begum is considered to be the best artist of this type of song.

Kazi nazrul who wrote many devotional song for both muslim and hindu god lord Krishna and kali ma (called shyama Sangeet)....in bengal during kali puja, nazrul songs played in pandals...nazrul born in asansol west bengal ,...after partition Bangladesh offer him citizenship as respect..he accept it ..

Well, he was not in a position to "accept" any citizenship. He was mentally unstable in the later years of his life. After 1971, Bangladesh needed a popular and talented mu*slim face as the national poet of Bangladesh and there was no one there. So, they requested the Indian govt. to let them offer Kazi Nazrul Islam bangladeshi citizenship. Indian govt. approved as a gesture and the poet's family agreed (even when few of them stated back in India). Though he was taken to Bangladesh in 1972, he was offered citizenship of bangladesh only in 1976, only 4-5 months before his death. His last wish was he be buried beside his wife's grave in Asansol but bangladeshi govt. in a haste buried him in Dhaka, so that his body cannot be taken back to India.

The song "Bagichay Bulbuli tui" was written when our beloved Kazi Nazrul Islam's second son Orindom Khaled(Bulbul) was sick and later he died at the age of 4/5! Nazrul hadn't much much money for the treatment. Just imagine guys, A father, A National Poet had to write the song for money to save his child but he couldn't save him !!!! Tbh I can feel the pain in this composition! And you guys actually talked about the song elaborately!!! Thanks for that!

*This classic song was written by Kazi Nazrul Islam who is the national poet of Bangladesh. He stayed quite a few months in a landlord's house at Becharam Dewri Road in Old Dhaka. Inside the big arena of that house there was a beautiful flower garden. Nazrul observed beautiful black birds called “Bulbuli” always play around in the garden. So one day he wrote this amazing melodious song maybe in 1926. And the songs written by Nazrul Islam called Nazrul Geeti have a separate patent in Bangali songs.* 💖💝💖

This song is about the eternal wait for the spring to arrive for Bulbul to come out of his sleep, (poet's son bulbul passed away when he was just 5 years old) and flower to blossom. Spring arrived, but bulbul never came back, as he was sleeping for the rest of his life. When Bulbul passed away poet wrote few poems and songs for Bulbul. Bulbul also represents a type of bird. Qazi Nazrul Islam is the national poet of Bangladesh.(copied comments*)
