Bulk processing with the command line

More of me gushing over how great the command line is, allowing you to automate operations on files. Here I unpack a bunch of strangely named zip archives into their own folders. This would take longer using an OS GUI and be very tedious, but a few loops/functions on the command line do it easily.
Tools used: Fish shell, ls (list), "for" loop, mv (move/rename), sed (stream text editor), gunzip & tar (file compression & packaging), functions.
