Bullet for my Valentine - Waking the Demon Honey Mead - a slight departure for us as this is our first non-whisky related video. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. Yes Luna your right, I am going to experiment with some cocktail ideas to see if I can use it for a taller drink so the sweetness is lessened. I’ve been asked if it would work as a base for an Old Fashioned and I think it might work if I substitute it for the sugar/syrup and maybe add a couple of extra dashes of bitters.

I have a Meadery by the house and do enjoy it from time to time my friend. It helps that they have about 50 beers on tap and are located right next door to a Distillery.

Now that sounds like heaven 😀 I’m going to try a few more meads but they just aren’t very popular in the U.K. at the moment l, so it’s hard to walk into a bar and try a few. Thanks for watching our video and taking the time to comment 🙏

If mead is your ‘thing’ and you like BFMV it’s worth giving a go. At Approx £15 it’s not going to break the bank either which is nice 👍

Cool video...French people from Brittany do produce this kind of spirit as well (in French "mead" translates as "hydromel") but with a higher abv...sometimes i's good & balance but I have to say others it's the easiest way to get the most terrible hangover you can think of, so I tend to avoid these. Cheers !

A hydromel isn't a French translation it just means it's a weaker mead hydro - water Mel - mead they are made with less honey so the yeast has less sugars to convert into alcohol

A higher abv mead would be a sack mead
