Hi Lindsey, I've just binged my way through your channel over the past couple of days, and - whoa. Let me just say that after a 2 year long tangent of search for something new to expand my horizon, I've learned a new dimension of planning, and after seeing your content, I now understand why bullet journal worked for me for so long. I am going back to BJ. Whether it be in a plain dot grid, official second edition of Leuchtturm, or even Hobonichi weeks, it doesn't matter; I need a SYSTEM, next to all my topic bound notebooks, to keep the perspective of all those topics, and most importantly, WHY those topics are in my life. Thank you. The simplicity of your layouts reminds me of what I loved about BJ the most. I was in charge of my life. Things are changing, and I need that again. Your new follower. :)

So helpful! I love X-ing things too because it's so satisfying to partially cross off something even if you just partially completed a task! Thanks for showing us your process, Lindsey!!! 🥰

Thanks for sharing your key. This was very helpful. I like to use the heart symbol for anniversaries and a box with a bow for birthdays. I am new to the bullet journal system but I have been using these symbols for a long time.

Thank you for sharing! I have no shame in admitting I am going to completely steal all of these ideas for my Hobo weeks!! You are a genius and your tips and ideas are going to help me a LOT! 💚 from Ireland

This was so interesting! I love how you can make it as simple or as complicated as you need. Also, I like that you only need one pen for this. My key is much simpler. I use an asterisk for any notes and an open square for anything else. If it is an important task, I highlight the square. If it is an appointment or event, i highlight the text next to the square. If I migrate or schedule or cancel anything, i just strike through the square. I don’t feel I need any other markings other than “you don’t need to worry about this anymore”. If I complete the task or attend the appt. / event, I fill in the square. I also find it extremely helpful to align all my bullets along the same column, for easy review. The reason I don’t part with my highlighter is that I bought the full pack of Tombow Dual Brush pens and they were hella’ expensive. I feel guilty if I don’t use them. I select 4 colors per week that I use for color coding in my vertical hourly weekly layout. On my dailies I just rotate between the colors, using one per day, to keep the color palette consistent.

I like the idea of having a signifier for my husband, will have to start that! I started using the heart after seeing it in a couple of your videos. For work, I use an upward arrow on a task if it's been delegated to someone else, and I might add their initial above/to the side.

Tfs, Lindsey! I find inspo in your videos. I am a Hobo Cousin user but have 3 (yes, THREE!!!) Hobo Weeks. I want to add one to my system and I am learning of ways to possibly use a weeks with my cousin. Anyway, in addition to some/most of the bullets you shared, I also use a diamond ♦️ to signify a “gem” - a quote I heard and want to remember, title of a book or movie someone mentioned, etc.

This is great! One other indicator that I use is an outlined box for packages that I’m expecting - especially around the holidays.

The only other signifier I use is an exclamation point next to important tasks or events, it helps me prioritize 🙂

I really enjoy how useful your videos are, I always get great ideas from you 🙂 Have you ever experimented with the GTD method? That's my primary productivity system, and I'm wondering if you have any ideas on how to add a bujo key into the GTD method. I love both systems and it would be so neat to be able to use both!

Hey, inspirational as usual and thank you for sharing. Quick question since I've noticed im having issues with fountain pen inks and the Hobonichi Weeks planner, do you find the De Artmentis inks dry fast and not smear in other colors than the grey? Two signifies I use is the light 💡 for idea and ! To indicate something is important.
@lindseyscribbles2 жыл бұрын
the archive ink dries the fastest in my experience. I have the document brown by De Atramentis as well and that one also dries pretty quick for me. It also highlights well with tombow, but I haven't tried it with a zebra mild liner.

I use bullet journal symbols in a travelers notebook weekly + memo, but I am unsure where to put the future log. Any ideas? ♡

What ink do you use in the fountain pink that won't smear with a highlighter or the Tombow markers? I can't find one that doesn't smear.
