With 8 MW of power, the train can, with the right motors exceed 200 kmph readily, but the tracks and signals are a limiting factor. On Indian tracks, over 100 kmph the ride starts to get very wobbly. Better track technology is needed to handle high speeds.

Well in reality it can still go 200 but the rail tracks of India is not good enough to support that and have a higher risk of having loosing the traction of the rail track with ground so if we wants a train in india to go over 200 we need to upgrade our entire rail track system that now can only supports 200 kmh speed at its maximum limit any further then that there will higher risk of accident

Actually it's the track problem Not the train We need to build strong concrete tracks for more speed as current tracks can't handle more the 180kmph Building new tracks will cost very much compare to current sleeper tracks We lack money here That why we ask help from Japan. If we had tracks already This T18 can easily go upto 200kmph And if give more power to it and make it little lighter it will achieve 280 kmph for sure. Which will be enough speed.

I too personally feel that the Train18 is made with light durable metals instead of heavy iron (Just like they do in foreign countries) for providing more faster acceleration and retardation (Due to lighter weight).. And that makes it the perfect ingredient to face a horrible disaster when it collides with a heavy truck or other machinery.. I too personally feel that RDSO and Railways are gambling with safety in the name of speed (To get vote banks obviously).

World's first steam engine runs at top speed 201km/hr..........and in 2018 we r happy and impressed with 180km/hr with electric engines......what a shame...................renewal railway tracks it's more than 100 year old ............not only trains...........it will dafenately reach minimum at 250 km/hr

For the time being, let us dream about riding a 180 km/hr train.. For ages and ages, we were struck at 150 kmph.. Somehow we have crawled to 160 kmph.. Now we are aiming at 180 kmph.. Slowly and steadily we are progressing.. So maybe in the future we might have 400+ kmph trains.. But for now, let us hope that this train indeed runs at 180 kmph.. Thanks and Cheers..

My friend.. We live in a country where our trains crawls at 110-130 kmph.. We are stuck at a top speed of 150-160 kmph for decades.. So a train which is trialing at 180 kmph (And is capable of hitting 200+ kmph with minor modifications) is like a bullet train for us.. To all my fellow Indians who say that 180 is not that big of a deal compared to developed countries Let me tell you this, these are not bullet trains were talking about but local trains They are meant to travel at this speed Turkey has one of the best train system and the locals there run at 200-220 Kmph So 180 is not bad for a developing country like India Moreover, bullet trains and Hyperloop are also being built in India The first Asian country to have a Hyperloop system is India Now, just because of this please don’t go on ranting stuff like “Jai hind” or “proud to be an Indian” Because that’s what fake patriots do Just work hard in silence and let your results speak That is how our country will progress Also, don’t forget to vote for NAMO in 2019 😉
