I’m juggling research, keynote speeches, managing The Medical Futurist team, staying healthy and exercising, unwinding with video games, getting lost in a good book every day and raising a family with two young kids.
Yeah, time management is pretty much my middle name! 🙂
I recently shared this strategy with my PhD students, and it got such a positive response that I figured I'd extend the time-saving tips to you all as well in this video.
Hopefully you will find something useful among them.
And even more importantly, hopefully you will share your method and tips with me! Thank you in advance for that!

I've been using calander to mark important events for the coming week and I must say it's been a huge boost in my efficiency. Your method is well detailed. I'll give it a try in the future.

I'm curious to learn about what video games you play :) I'm trying to get back into video games after a long hiatus, and I am currently struggling to find the time. I can certainly make the time, but it's a matter of prioritizing other things that are just a little more necessary or interesting to me right now. One thing I have noticed about playing video games with a more "mature brain" is that I can get so much more out of them now! It's not just enjoyment of the game, but in particular an appreciation for good design and all of the things that have to come together across various dimensions of design to make a game appealing. Love your content; I am a hybrid PM/Data analyst in a small startup in the digital health sector, focused on chronic pain.

Thank you! I play a big range of games from Counter-Strike 2 to puzzle games and even Elden Ring. But my absolute favorite experience was The Talos Principle. :)

@@Medicalfuturist The Talos Principle looks great! Thanks for sharing it, I will definitely check it out. Seems similar to The Witness, which you might want to try if you loved Talos so much. Also, this is a totally different sub-genre to me, but if you like action puzzle games, check out Tetrisphere. It's an old N64 game but I think it's the most underrated action puzzle game ever. It is unique to this day. Might require emulation (I doubt you have an old N64 laying around), or at least check out some videos just to see what I'm talking about. You truly have to think in 3 dimensions to be good at that game.

nice comment Edward. Are you into RPG games at all? (It sounds like) I share the same problem of not being able to stick to a habbit of playing my guitar as much, out of feling guilty for not spending more time for my startup. In my experience there is no other way thatn to actually convinve yourself that your personal care task has the same priority as the work task. I've also found that not doing the personal care task, makes me less efficient in the end because there is a subtle frustration that carries forward to other work tasks. Go ahead and play them viodegames more often. Bertalan, can you explain why you think it's important to not finish 100% of your tasks? I find this difficult to accept because if you are ok with not finishing some of the tasks, doesn't that mean they shouldn't be on the list? Having said that, I almost never finsih all my to do in the week, smh
