how do you cope with growing/ageing in life? As I am growing old, I get scared that my life is decreasing and I feel scared. @@darkpenink6730 The primary thing I would keep in mind is that so very many die young, so like... if you can make it to even 60, congratulations, you win. If you're lucky enough to hit 70-90 range, you can take great joy in knowing you had more time. The psychological rub is you need to find enough meaning and gratitude in the present, whilst not clinging to regrets of the past, and not getting lost in the future (which you will likely imagine under worst case scenario, or go the other way and just fantasize about what you COULD do, while never actually doing much of it). I'm rambling at this point but what I mean to say is: Physical death is scary, but inevitable and therefore something we should pay little mind to (unless it can benefit our lives in some way) but growing old is a massive blessing that translates to more time. Find sincere joy in your present and death will have a lesser strength. Oh and find people you click with, make friends and share such things.

Well honestly, as someone who was bullied in the past (I'm also a decently skilled fighter myself, however I was like a year younger than them because I skipped a grade which also led to me being the smallest) nope, I've never fought a lone bully. However, I did absolutely ruin the bullies (3 of them) when I lost my patience with them. After that I had to be transferred to another school because "I was endangerment to the other students". On another occasion (this is like 6-7 years later) my school was on a trip and my friend at the time (did I mention he was the #1 taekwondo fighter and I was the #3 taekwondo fighter nationally?) was getting bullied by kids from a different school, that ended in us fighting a 14v2 and we managed to defeat them. For the ones that will be telling me that fighting 14 people with 2 decently skilled taekwondo fighters isn't that hard. Please try it yourself

The truth of the matter in real life, and not seen in movies: You DO NOT need to be a "martial arts expert" to stand up to a bully! You just need to STAND UP! My grandfather told me you do not need to "win" a fight to get a bully to leave you alone. All you have to do is hurt him, and it doesn't matter how. Bite his ankles if you have to, and he (and hopefully not a she lol) will leave you alone. Because it's not the bully's intention to fight. It's intimidation, and all a bluff. And it does work. I stood up to a kid bullying me and whipped his butt. A week later, while walking home from school he jumped me from behind with 3 other guys. I ended making the rest of the walk home completely naked after beating me. Yeah I refused and did not return to that school after that. So never mind what my grandfather says! lol! The world's a tough place, but you still gotta stand up for yourself when you are in the right, even when you know you can get hurt doing it, was his real message. Because it is the right thing to do. And that is all that matters. (Taking some lessons learning how to defend yourself doesn't hurt either.)

This brings back fond memories as a kid. It's too bad the main actor committed suicide, I think.

Funny, we didn't have a rope but had this super high pegboard thing you had to jump off a platform to the bottom row then use the round pegs to go up row by row to the top near the ceiling of the gym, then let yourself back down. I didn't have the upper body strength to do it at all when I was a freshman, and when I was a sophomore I was super tall and lanky, 6'5" and weighed 170 and had long noodle arms, couldn't even do one pull up, but had good core strength and could crank out sit ups no problem. Starting second year I worked out every day after school on the universal machine, and stayed late to practice on that board when no one was around, then went over during the summer every afternoon. Finally nailed it during the summer and kept practicing so I could race up and down it practically with my eyes closed. The first gym class of Junior year in front of everyone I owned it, went to the top and slapped the ceiling with my left hand, and never took shit again. It was worth every bit of sweat to shut up the loudmouths in the class looking for any excuse to put someone down. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw this movie and the rope climb.

I grew up watching martial art movies. My favorite martial art people are Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, Jet Lee, and Brandon Lee.

I got into martial arts when I was 12 years old in 1976 by the time this movie come out I had three children and I was teaching them taekwondo and Tang Soo do both styles are very similar. My children knew that I admired Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris. So when this movie came out I took them to see it. My children thought they were just amazing that the boy in this movie's name was Barry, and how much he admired Chuck Norris. Because Barry is my name, and always dreamed of going to the Battle of Atlanta and sparring with Chuck Norris. In a few months I will be 59 and I still admire Chuck Norris and workout a few times a week. It has killed me in shape, and mainly help me with my mine set, my discipline, my patience, and my help. Martial arts has helped me through a lot of difficult time in my life, from a child, to an adult. Through the accomplishment of learning the art and the meditation, my life has been more focused. I have passed on through my children and my fellow students that anything in life can be accomplished if you if you have the ambition to maintain your vision you will reach your goal. Thank you Chuck Norris for the inspiration and motivation, you made a big impact in my life can I pass it on down the line to the next, and even the generation after that also teach my grandchildren, and my son teaches his children. In my eyes Mr North's you are a true hero, an inspiration, you redirecting my life and many others. "Truly a Bell Sheep". Those of you who do not know what that is it is the one that others follow. Thank you and God bless 🙏💖
