Hello Thomas, Thanks for your kind query. We are using the hammer to beat the design to get a uniform texture. Beating the design adds extra shine. However, it is totally up to you whether you want to keep the as it is or flatten it. Pitta work looks really interesting, give it a try, maybe you will like it.
