Seem Donovan was more effective as a collegiate coach than the NBA. I know the NCAA has changed, but he would probably have good success recruiting considering his tenure in the NBA. His inability to adjust to NBA style of basketball has been evident (especially at OKC). Having the talent he had there and unable to reach higher success was telling. CP3 basically lead that team the year he was there. Whether he stays or go…he has been quite fortunate as a coach in the game. Great podcast.

Well look at Pitino, calipari and Donavon. Fantastic college careers but it just didn't translate in the NBA. Donavon no question about it he is one of the best coaches that has great relationships with his players and they do respect him. Ive been wanting him at Kentucky for many years because it's just crazy that he is the perfect fit for Kentucky and it's like he's running from it.

The only way the Bulls could beat Philly, IF they won the first game, would be if Billy started Drummond against Embiid which he WILL NOT DO because he is not about winning over everything. Vooch gets torched against Embid and plays like garbage. Drummond would give us a puncher's chance.

Yeah, I don’t get it, seems like Donovan is obligated to play Vucevic when clearly Drummond out plays him. Yes Vucevic has the ability to hit a 3pointer but we get destroyed on the glass and in pic n roll plays. I say trade Vucevic in the offseason, pick up Nic Claxson as a UFA, bring back Drummond.

Let Billy Donovan walk, or buy him out (which the FO nor ownership will not do) and then bring in Rajon Rondo as head coach with some very experienced assistant coaches to help him (again the FO and ownership won’t do that either). Or look at Sam Cassell as the HC.

It just seems great college coaches never adapt well in the NBA. Its like he's trying to make himself believe he's NBA material but he's not. There's nothing wrong with that and NBA players respect Donovan I just think he was built more for college. Absolutely legendary coach it just doesn't translate to the pros.

@@zackclark2265 It's just two different games. Billy D is VHS, and the NBA runs on Betamax, to use an analogy from his era.
