Congrats Northampton. Deserved win. The handling was very frustrating from the Bulls. Backline didn’t fire. If it wasn’t for Hanekom, they would have lost by much more. He was the best player on the park by far.

The Saints were on top of the game. Very impressive. I had Bulls to win by 12, but if you can't win at home, forget about it. There is definitely a sizeable gap between top level Northern Hemisphere European championship teams and south African clubs. I also saw some 360 views of Loftus Road and there were very few fans there. Why the lack of support? They always use the "everybody is under the camera position" excuse but that's bs. South African rugby needs to market the game more. It must be soul destroying that a Championship game against a top European team can only attract a smattering of fans .

In your defence I wouldn’t have been complaining too much if they had chalked off Freeman’s first… a little dicey, but it stood. Just the Bulls butchering their chances today. But Hanekom’s first try was practically ref assisted, so it seems karma washes out. Game struggled for fluidity at times, but saints were clinical at the right moments. Huge, and hugely deserved, Saints win.

Northampton getting zero credit. Everyone talking about knock-ons and the Bulls giving away Penalties without mentioning the huge defensive set that was forcing both of them. Bulls only butchered 1 try, the knock on. The rest were tries that were only scored because of Bulls bending/breaking the laws. Also, Freeman didn't butcher anything, both of his tries were correctly given.
@danieSt19 күн бұрын
Northampton defended well but come on now. Bulls had 4 disallowed tries , how Northampton won that game is astounding. I’ve never seen a team physically battered in every aspect and go on to win the game. Willie Le roux and canan moodie one was unforgivable , bulls also should never have been down at half time. The officiating was actually horrendous against the bulls. If bulls first try was dis allowed for Willie Le roux crossing then why wasn’t George Hendy try disallowed for Fraser dingawall runnung in front. I think Northampton will be ranked number 1 seeded going into the knock outs as I think they will get maximum 20/20 points but it’s so bizzare because they should have lost that game by 40+ period.
@k1ngcab00se19 күн бұрын
@danieSt funny how you ignore the fact that the first try was also a massive forward pass. The other tries were correctly disallowed too, they literally would not have been scored (other than the knock on obviously) if the Bulls had played by the rules. So where's the horrendous refereeing? On the physicality, you should probably watch it back, Millar-Mills got destroyed in the scrum, but once he was off (start of the 2nd half) scrummaging was pretty even. It is a very South African thing to think that just because you won a few scrums (but couldn't do anything else well) that you should win by 40. Plus, 40+ points haha, there's only one team that should've won by 40 and that's when you sent your leftovers to get devoured at the Gardens, ah my bad, was just the 37 points. Anyway, good luck this season in the URC, would be nice to see the Irish humbled (though not sure the Bulls are the team to do it)

@@k1ngcab00seI’ve rewatched the match and i actually think you are right. I apologies for sounding like a sour loser I’m just a proud bulls supporter and that was a tough loss to take. I do think there was some harsh calls against the bulls , the Jan hendrick- wessels called for not rolling away but he had ripped the ball of Pearson but the ref couldn’t see . Also I think the Pearson clean out was actually ok. But this is probably just clutching straws. I think Northampton deserved to win simply because they let bulls punch themselves out , Bulls had so many try scoring opportunities which as you said were rightfully disallowed but I definetly feel bulls lost that more than saints won it(pls no disrespect intended to saints )Northampton subsequently scored. I do think Northampton deserve massive credit and I really hope they get all the way to the final. I think they’ll get 20/20 points as I think they’ll comfortably beat Stade Francais and Munster. Like you said they battered us in QF and should have beaten Leinster in croke park in semis but Caelen Doris is allowed to do whatever he wants at the breakdown and Leinster in general. For me either toulouse La Rochelle Northampton bordeaux and Leinster will win it.
