Thanks for the video, its really helpful. But wanted to bring to your attention that Overtime Earning code should not accrue leave. When you edited Overtime hours, you clicked on Accrue leave which is incorrect, same with OT 2.0 code.

Yes they are. Anything that is Ordinary Time Earnings (OTE) is reportable to W1. So the way Xero has set up some allowances in the Demo Company is actually wrong.

Hello, thank you for your videos. I am all ready to pay my staff everything is set up. However where on earth do I put in staffs hourly rates? I have 14 year olds and 40 year olds, all earn different amounts. What am I missing here???

When you're setting up your employee in Xero, go to the Pay Template tab and click on the button + Add Earnings Line. A popup should appear and in there you select "Enter Rate" under the Calculation type. In Fixed Amount you can put in the number of hours they work in a pay cycle (e.g. week, fortnight, month) and put their hourly pay rate in the Rate box.

Hi, if I changed the annual salary from, sample, 95k to 125k. Shall I manually edit the hourly rate when i ran the pay run?

If you change the salary the hourly rate should automatically change when you start a new pay run. If you already have a draft pay run open you may need to reset the employee's pay template in the pay run to get the new hourly rate to come through.
