These are just a designer mastiffs to make money. I’m not hating or talking down. The way she explained the reasons for making this “new breed” doesn’t add up at all. It was obviously pointless because there are a bunch of different breeds that have the characteristics that she was looking for and for other people (customers). So in reality she basically wanted to be a trend setter and make a “new breed” so she could corner a market in dog sales as the originator of a “breed” and claim fame in the dog world. Nothing special about the dogs compared to other mastiff breeds that have been around 100s-1000s of years. All this time and effort to make a new breed of dog in todays world when you could just take the time and effort to selectively breed and strive to better breeds that already exist and have the traits she wanted to sell. I’m just saying this dog is pointless a flashy colored mastiff to bring in the money point blank period. Just my take on the interview and the breed.

This is the the best example of breeding for profit. When colors are a main point in describing a dog that’s a huge red flag. No direction of temperament at all. A friendly guard dog/ livestock guardian??? What a pile of hot garbage. Hips and elbow issues, cherry eye… riddled with health problems. The cherry on top is the hate for others using this mutt to create more garbage when in reality that’s exactly what was done by them! Look I totally get the appeal to create a breed. But most people have no business doing that. This is a prime example if not the best example as to why. Hilarious and sad. Thank you dogumentary tv for this hilarious comedy piece 🤣

That chocolate merle looks pretty displastic and also like she's been bred a lot already. I can't believe how many buzzword and marketing colors I heard coming out this one person's mouth. She even sell breeding PAIRS. She has harlequin merle in this breed. Harlequin merle causes 100% fatality in puppies that inherit 2 copies of it. This is already looking like a nightmare for maintaining healthy genetic diversity within the breed.

I suspect the main factor is that she is located in North America, and is trying to create some exclusivity and rights to the “breed” name. I’m getting some bad vibes from the lack of info that she provides and the wide array of “specialty” colors , but I’d bet that it’s part of her strategy. I really hope that they can create a healthy breed through genetic health testing and responsible breeding.

Of course they made sure merle and every unhealthy dilute color was in it...I already have no hope for this breed. Merle and lilac means color is being prioritized above all. I wont blindly support someone creating dogs with no consideration to health and ethics. I don't care if its pretty. These are living things. We shouldn't act like they are nothing but business and dollar signs to us. The animal wellbeing and health should ALWAYS come first. Don't you understand these actions have an effect on other living things, including people? What happens when someone's piebald merle has mdr1 deformity and dies from common medication? What happens when dogs are mated before they are tested for health problems, and you buy a puppy for it to die of a heart defect in a couple weeks? She's running a get-rich-quick on these dogs, and people don't nor should respect that.

@@rileyrenee9916 Bringing in genes that import blindness, deafness, eye deformities, autoimmune issues, and lower lifespan because they come with profitable colors is not how you create a healthier mastiff. Because it's some made up bullshit to make a quick buck. "breeders" will call it a rare breed and charge 5k for it but don't know anything about genetics. You can tell when plthey start describing coat types instead of what it's actually supposed to do, or what are some inherited genetic traits. There's no breed standard. Notice how often she says "get a consistent look", but also "they can do anything that any other dog can do". That's nonsense.
