Excellent review Bulu ji. I test rode the Versys 650 and Honda 500 NX today. I presently have a Triumph Tiger 800 XR (2015). I have been planning to buy the BMW 1250 GS. Went and test rode that a month ago. As one is growing older (55+, 5'8", 72kg) I realised the CC, BHP, Torque is meant for serious riders and of course bragging rights. I am one who simply loves to ride and that has stopped. That is because today i find the Triumph Tiger 800 XR a little heavy, I do not require that high speed, that high torque and the unbearable engine heat in a warm/hot country like India. When I test rode the Versys 650 and Honda 500 NX, I found the Honda more suitable for me. I loved the ease with which I could manoeuvre, there is zero engine heat (Versys 650 had little), the weight and seat height is just right for me (Versys felt little heavier) and most importantly I felt nice - nice is after all, a feeling. As for the price tag - It's a Honda and they are globally known for most reliable machines and the slight premium (compared to RE or KTM) is for the brand name. Now I will sell my Tiger and buy the Honda and hoping to start riding again.

Best part of your video is aap pehle try karte ho then you talks about it. For example you told that you will let us know about low end torque when you ride in city. But people here drive slow on highway and judge the bike for city which is point less

I have a doubt while I checked in person. It says recommended fuel is E5 / E10. As we transition to E20. Can we go ahead and purchase this one? This parameter is concerning and showroom guys doesn’t have any clue about it.

If Honda ever wakes up and decides to localise production it would disrupt market, people are already willing to pay a premium for Honda, its actually price should have been 5.5 max.

Bulu Bhai based on review by a couple of other people (one of them owned a CB500x for a long time before buying a BMW 850), I have a few questions. They have the mentioned a few cons, some of which seem important. What is your opinion? Or it just nit picking or are they comparing outside the segment? One more thing, should we and can you compare 500NX to versys 650? 1. Seat not that comfortable for long touring. 2. Handle bar position bit far, brings some kinds of discomfort in hands 3. Suspension poorer than enfield and in their words "suspension is most important while touring) 4. less vibration than Himalayan as well as CB500X but still some vibration on left footrest above 100 Km/h. 5. 100 only at 5000rpm in 6th compared to BMW and even Himalayan and that is a problem 6. 10 hp short in power given the displacement.

thank you for the video . honda is a sweet spot for me - my budget is almost touching vstrom 800de and honda transalp then i thought those bikes are too powerful in many cases plus high maintenance and parts even suzuki accessories are expensive also when we are touring countryside these big bikes are not that easy to manage and maintain. yes can not compare NX500 with Himalayan and ktm 390 because this nx is higher on the cost which is justified by twin cylinder motor, better instrument cluster, better suspension, better weight management, better riding posture, brakes are good and head turning looks. so yes i am going for NX500. also i wish that Honda should priced it somewhere 5 to 5.5 lakh range.

People will never understand quality in India, very few peole understands quality and refinement, only they are concernrd of geting something to showoff with zero knowledge in motors comparing power and try to fing justification in priceing. Bro good decition keep it up..

Himalayan is a stupid bike, serves no purpose with full confidence, in city, weight and long wheelbase becomes a problem along with the poor low end response from the engine, in highways it's too vibey, you take it to off road, still weight becomes a problem for people of India with no off road skills.

People very much understand quality, but are conscious of VALUE. It would be foolish to ignore price and what competition has to offer. This bike doesn't offer any 'quality' that justifies a 3 lakh premium over similarly capable bikes. Besides, much of this premium is not for quality, but instead taxes.

Owning ktm adv 390. After seeing your review on this bike I would pick up adv 390 any day. Regardless of pricing mileage and features. Saw your review on aerox and kept that for city

Price is one of the major factor. Again the instrument cluster and other perks . After paying 2-3 lakhs more you are not getting those. Not much difference in the power

It is a cheap and simple no nonsense bike. Reliable and easy to ride, low fuel consumption. Thats all there is to say about it.

Quick request. Could you make a video on Highway touring. How you decide what's the right speed in a particular patch, what if four wheelers are driving at the same speed as yours etc. Most just say go with the flow but there surely is a logic behind everything that needs to be decoded for optimum touring.

For the price and being a twin cylinder, this bike should have had atleast 20% more power (about 55 HP) to justify the huge premium over single cylinder bikes like KTP 390.

@@asitkhanda 3 lakh premium is not for quality over features. Much of it is for taxes and duties, and that makes it a poor value proposition.

This has just 41mm front forks, H450 and Triumph scramblerX both have 43mm....so how does Honda compare?

I did 430kms in 5hrs crusing at 120 - 130kmph in himalayan 450, didn’t got tired, yes the vibrations are there but they don’t annoy, Between 90 to 120 the vibrations are more, you either cruise at 80 or above 120

Congratulations again, Bulu bhai! Embarking on a long trip right out the showroom, what else could you ask for! Btw, need your insight on another topic. I am unable to connect my Bluarmor C30 to my Android Auto unit. It detects the unit, shows connecting, and then times out. Bluetooth speaker can be connected without any issues though (was checking if issue was with Android Auto unit or C30). It does not work out if I connect to phone and select media and call output only for the C30 either, until Android Auto is disconnected. There is no pairing confirmation popup coming up on the Android Auto device either, like I see when I connect to phone directly. I have sent mail to Bluarmor support 2 times without any response from them. Can you confirm if it works for your C30 and Sena (phone connected to Android Auto, and Android Auto unit connected to C30/Sena)?

Thanks for your valuable insights, what is the tyre cost and life ? I heard it is in the range of 25-30k for front and rear and lasts around 12-15k depending on usage ?

Yes sir superbike segment tyres so cost b jyada n kms b kam because of softer compound. But good thing is on this bike we can also install 150segment tyres n then we have a wide variety of tyres

Dear bullu bhai, I got dom 400 2018 model, clocked 90k kms. I am looking for upgrade. I had an eye on Himalayan 450, hence I went one of the RE showroom near Uppal in HYD. The moment I actuated the clutch, inspite of Slipper ones, it's harder than my Dom. I do not mind spending Vitamin M(money) on Honda NX 500, however I am looking for a machine that will stay with me fo atleast 10 yrs. Pls let me know the initial insurance no of yrs covered, the engine warranty(I know its a stupid Q as it's a Honda). This will help me to convince my home finance minister(my wife😊) to approve my NX 500 tender😊

Hi bro, my friend Nitya was also at the same confusion n he booked the NX. This is a bike for longterm. Warranty standard is 2 years and extened 3 more years Insurance differs from company to company so kindly confirm with ur dealer

Hi bulu bhai iam planning to buy versys 650 2024 model but Honda cb 500nx also im looking. which one is good and price point it almost 3 lakhs differences its ok for me my budget was under 10lakhs. which bike was less vibrations at 130-140 kmph.some KZbin channels say's versys 650 had vibrations but you owned 2 bikes you know very well even KZbin reviews plz suggest me

Cruise control keliye ride by wire bhi tho hona chahiye. There is no ride by wire unfortunately. This would have been a perfect tourer with those additions btw. But nonetheless this is still a great tourer if you've the budget.

I test rode this bike today in Mallya road Bangalore, topline and I agree with all your points, weight management is simply awesome. But I was very disappointed with the foot peg position. I feel it's a bit too rear set for long distance touring. Hness is so much more comfortable. The knee bends too much in this I felt. I'm a shade less than 5'8, not too tall, but I felt my knee more bent than even in 300r which feels like a dwarf in front of this. Deal breaker enough for me sadly. I have a unicorn 160 and I want an upgrade desperately. I thought instead of 300r or h'ness I'll stretch my budget and go for this but I was not comfortable. Hness is most comfortable but less power. 300r is pretty zippy but very tiny and 17 inch wheels. This bike is great but not comfortable for my legs.

High compression ratio, gets pretty hot around the legs, fan kicks in within 5 mins after some revving to just under 6000rpm that too from a cold start, 11 am Bangalore Nov temp. Can't imagine the heat in summers and office hour traffic. Hondas usually run 10.7:1, that's why the engine feels calm. Hness runs 9.5:1 infact. Thanks for responding 😊

@@hafeezsheikh7567 can't beat the H450 in terms of vfm. Nx500 is for people who care more about refinement and reliability for long-term use, of course with a bigger pocket. If you want to do lots of off-road and live with certain level of vibrations and the top heavy issues in city traffic, h450 is perfect. If I had the leg comfort on the nx500 I would never compare it with the h450 for a second, especially since I won't keep off roading regularly. Don't buy for once in a lifetime Ladakh trip in mind. Buy with all the other roads in mind. I have been riding a Honda for 9 years now and therefore have no tolerance for vibes, it immediately spoils my mood to push the bike. For many others it's not such a big deal. Once you get used to a Honda its very difficult to accept rough sounding or feeling machines. So you have to take your call. I'm looking forward to what the Maverick has to offer on reviews. I'm stuck now between 300r for power and cb350s for comfort 🤔

Ride Comfort, adequate power, reasonable mileage, easy on pocket in terms of service and spare parts cost and availability, durability, premium feel, touring on highways and capable of taking on some trails, good tank capacity to munch more miles……. I think these are boxes which gets ticked up with this bike…. A companion for life…. Do we then really consider or worry about paying 2 Lakhs more for this bike ?…. I think these things make this the best bike…

I was thinking to get this bike but somehow not able to convince myself even though I have the budget. So I will instead be getting the H450 & Scrambler 400x both instead of 1 NX500. There are some situations where the brain takes over than the heart and this is one of them. If they had given 10-15bhp more (which they could've easily) , then this would've been a no brainer. Also the other things to consider are its not just the 1 time cost to buy this - because the bike is expensive, the accessories will also be expensive which would bring it close to 8.5L after all necessary touring accessories. Great video though Bulu bhai! Would love to ride together with you in one of your next trips - I'm also from Bangalore!

Bulu bhai...i own suzuki vstrom 250 (already covred 25k kms,still bike feels brand new from fit n finish and engine smoothness pont of view ,not even single sound from panels and engine )bike is amazing 95 to 105 kmph is crusing speed without any vinbrations (motul 300v engine oil)..from 105 to 120kmph bit buzz, can go upto 135kmph..but on open highways i feel lack of crusing speed...not able to cover good distances like 800 to 1000kms per day.. im planning to switch to nx 500, is it worth?

Tiger i have owned honda highness and Africa twin, versys 650 and the worst with these motorcycles eas availability of ASC for these bikes and Africa twin, versys spare parts is headache. Riding in remote parts of India the fear of something goes wrong and one is stuck till eternity. I at last bought ktm 390 adventure and it does everything and the best i ride it with confidence everywhere alone as I know I will be able to hit the road in no time if anything goes wrong. The fear of unknown has vanished and I enjoy riding the motorcycle.

As per Your Logic ITCHY BOOTS aka Noraly should not buy any Bikes. She has completed 60k KM on Honda Crf the lowest model in AFRICA REMOTE area. You should trust your Bike. Just check her Videos, she trust her bike more than her life and that bike never disappoint, peace

A higher screen is easy and cheap to buy. But i am 5,8 and the buffeting was fine with stock screen.

Sir fab 19 ko book ki hai mene bike abhi tk delivery nhi mili. Maan lo agr delivery mil gyi ab toh or breakdown hoti h toh part ka milna toh impossible h jo delivery nhi depa rhe parts availability toh bhul hi jao Form my side it’s a big no for nx500 very disappointed with Honda

I love Honda but I don’t like their approach with normal and bigwing showrooms. And some effortless copy-paste designs turns me down on honda . These things dooms the brand value . Thank you for the honest talk. I saw a video of carwow where the honda engine runs the most without engine oil. I myself am a fan of these engines . I like africa twin , cb 650 r and cb 300 r . Iconic designs but belongs to bigwing cadre .

@@wandererunchained9805 it's obvious... 2 lac more gets you the versys which is in a different league altogether in terms of power, size, equipment etc. There is a huge community, Kawasaki isn't bad in terms of parts availability and the bike itself has been around for ages in India in its earlier version

Can you do a review on unpaved roads experience , more likely the review on how it will behave on routes like Zanskar new route or sach pass kind of roads. Is it easy to handle in such condition ? And what to expect from NX500 on such routes will be really helpful one. I have done those routes on Duke390 & Xpulse of course it won’t be as smooth as xpulse. But still it can give some idea of vehicle. Let’s see if i can get test ride in my city so far i have not heard of Nx500 at my local bigwig dealership.

Bhai ek chij gaur karo 126 pe acche se baat kar rahee hain billu bhai isee pataa chalta hai ye bike ka kya level hai. Bhai single cylinder kitna bhi kuch kar le but jab dual cylinder ki baat aati hai to single cylinder kuch hai iske capability ke samne. Main to Anyday honda lunga compare to RE

Bro has some issues with Royal Enfield and people who are saying they had booked Himalayan now they canceled it and going to book nx500 😹😹😹it means they have started riding yesterday 😹😸😺they don’t even think about their budget before planning a bike but Mr Patnaik has really some issues with RE I guess he mustn’t have been treated well in any RE dealership 😹😸😺😹and it happens with most of people but most of people r not influencer like mr paitnaik 😹😸😺
