Millions of people died, including more than a million here in the US. We're in the midst of a strong recovery. But that recovery hasn't completed yet." I would say some want 1950, some want 1850, some (Christian Reconstructionists explicitly) want to go back to Jesus' time. Others want to go back in general but have not thought out the details. The current repub version or a "big tent". Once in power, they will turn to fighting each other. Then we will find out the result of that power structure and how effective it will be at turning the clock back. They can only be partially effective, or at least it will not be identical to the period because culture has changed and tech. 1950/1850/0 would not have been the same with the internet and cell phones, so the new version will be significantly different.

My dad and 3 uncles served in WWII. My dad was in the Navy in the Pacific theater. Two uncles served in the army in the Battle of the Bulge. One was killed. The third uncle served in the Merchant Marine. They had no protection as they carried supplies and equipment across the Atlantic. Many ships were sunk by the Nazi subs. His was not, fortunately. Rick,as usual,is absolutely right. But he is holding it together. The inversion of economy/politics versus politics/economy is a profound change of perspective and context. As an ad maker myself, I know how good he is.
