Trumps tariff threats on Canada have made Canadians distrust the United States. The relationship has forever changed and Canadians have now decided to buy Canadian made products, and cancel U.S. travel plans. As a country we are united on this topic and forging our relationships with other countries. As well as further develop our resources on the Northwest passage. Trump has reminded us that Canada has other allies that will partner with us as we continue to grow to be self sufficient. Not sure if Trump understands that Canada is part of the British commonwealth, along with the United Kingdom and Australia . We would be more likely to join one of those countries than to become the 51st state. Even though we have a PM, King Charles is our head of state 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Someone should school Trump!

I am a Brazilian/Canadian and I never trusted the US. It supported our 1964 military coup and Brazilians remained 20 years unable to vote for a president. I have not forgotten the tortured and killed by the military either. Now it is Canada's turn to finally wake up for the fact that 1/4 of Americans are stupid/irresponsible to the point of voting for Trump... twice. There are too many crazy people down there. Prudence is a virtue. Hope my fellow Canadians DO NOT forget this episode.

I have a client from Europe who announced groundbreaking on a 600 million dollar mfg facility last year. It’s a renewable energy facility that will (would) employ over 500 well paying jobs. Now with the chaos of the current admin, we are on indefinite hold. I was going to help staff operations and potentially take up a leadership role. I don’t understand how so many people think this man is a businessman….he’s a real estate plate spinner, just buying properties and leveraging the shit out of them for the next purchase. Judging by how the markets are reacting, it must be slowly dawning on Trump that fulfilling his campaign committments to dramatically increase tariffs would tank the economy, the stock market and his Presidency. His policy of mass deportations will do the same and he will have to go back on those promises. What he campaigned on didn't make any sense anyway. As a matter of fact, most of what he says has never made much sense.

I think you are wrong about deportations. I am NOT defending them. The negative effects from these deportations will take months and maybe even a year or two to fully play out. There simply isn't the capacity to deport over ten million people in a few months or even in the next year. There aren't enough ICE agents, there aren't enough holding areas and maybe not enough airplanes to make it happen. It will take time for these things to change, if they change. I've read that about one million people could be deported in the next year. Even that number of deportations might not happen. Of course, there will still be negative economic effects, but they will be uneven and not all at once. This could makes it easier to keep these deportations going for a couple of years. The only good thing I can add to this is that Trump and his cronies aren't exactly geniuses when it comes to organization. It's possible that round up operations and deportations will be publicity events on FOX, but won't ever be as large as threatened, maybe. When the negative economic effects start to be recognized by the market, then Trump would be forced to pull back and declare victory.

The U.S. is already starting to circle the drain. All the pieces of destruction are now in place. We outsiders can get the popcorn and watch the show. But it's so damn sad.

Love The Triad. Was super interested in his analysis Sunday night. Today’s was appropriately somber. If you want to really understand the risk, look at what Insurers will start doing around trade credit risk in the US and globally, also keep an eye on cyber insurance which has foolishly offered coverage for systemic failure of interconnected systems. Not to mention targeted hacktivism - also basically covered.

The problem with Donold's bullying tactics is it kind of works, until you bully that one person/ group who takes half a threat as a full on threat. And they have been having "one of those days."

Well there are six kids that have access to all our data (and apparently on thumb drives too,), including our SS numbers. And not only ours, but Trump’s and Alito’s and everyone else’s. What happens when they get pissed off by Musk as it seems happens too often? How much do you think they can get for that data?

It was his Trade agreement with Canada & Mexico that he violated (and now call it a bad deal). He did agree to do something about the huge influx of guns into Mexico to the Mexican government but never mentioned that to us.

Canada's (and Mexico's) best hope is that he tries this shit again in 30 days and the market responds in kind again. Then Trump might get the message and cut this shit out. he hates it when his 'ratings' go down.

Trump wants to eliminate the Canadian identity, by making them all Americans. Just like how Russia wants to Russify all Ukrainians, and eliminate the Ukrainian identity.
