I’ve been homeless a couple times, I gotta admit it felt pretty good to score every now and then. A thick wool jacket in a donation box, free food from any number of places. Just being out there if you stay positive your odds of winning (more or less you’re still homeless lol) increases. I remember when I got out of rehab I hooked up with the detox nurse and she used to let me take showers at her place, then I’d grab a free coffee in the apartments lobby and make my way down to the center for some hot food. And I was young enough to access some youth spots. Shit was nice honestly. The winter sucked but I found housing eventually. Lost it all again last year and took a train across the country. A derailment left me stranded in Albuquerque for a few days and within a few hours of getting off the train this dude and his gf had offered to let me spend the night because of how fucking cold it gets out in that desert. There’s some cool people out there if you do right by them and stay positive. Just watch your back and learn how to wake up easy and ready for action even if it’s a false alarm. Maybe that’s just called ptsd lmao

‘To be young again with not a care in the world’, but these days after having been a slave in the matrix for over thirty years I am fond as for the freedom ❤

He looks like such a good hearted dude, but I was kinda scared what the rest of his life might have turned out like, because this life isn't forever. Did some digging and found a podcast with him (on newschoolers). Turns out he had a good season with sponsors, went back to his home town, works construction and is married now. Man that makes this video so much more warm-hearted for me

Not sure why KZbin decided to recommend this, but this was entertaining AF😂 makes me want to quit my corporate job, throw away my IPhone, live rent free in a tent down by the river in Whistler & spend the rest of my days as a Ski Bum🎿 🇨🇦 Hope you’re doing well out there Charley!

I enjoy that the intro is full of pseudo-intellectual ramblings

The algorithms blessed me today with this gem. Still undefeated.

I see no problem with being a ski bum as long as you don't mooch off friends. I made the mistake of not providing enough on own and relying too much on others. I lost many friends because of it. Only rely on yourself, not your buddies.

The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve, but a reality to experience. A process that cannot be understood by stopping it. We must move with the flow of the process. We must join it. - Charley Ager, Whistler ski bum

its always extremely dissapointing to find an old video, and almost every single top comment is about the algorithm and the home page and recommended.

The algorithm didn’t even exist when this video was uploaded
