Everytime I listen to this song, I think about a couple who have broke up and followed different paths. Maybe they have hurted each other or just parted away in good terms, but lost contact. Time goes on and a lot happened in their own lifes when, one day, he is crossing streets in a big city, being alone at the crowd and focused on trying to lighten up his cigarrette when a random dude bumps into his shoulder, making him rise up his head. Hes ready to shout at a stranger when, right there (!) at 0:44 she passes through him. Time slow down, he blinks and the cigarrette falls forgotten at the floor while he tries to figure out what is happening right in front of him. When the traffic light is about to change, he comes back to reallity and start running at 1:44, going against the crowd without even sure if she wants to see him again. He can only see a piece of her back lost at the middle of that bunch of people, however the way her hair moves while shes walking is unique (to him) and it makes her stand out between all those strangers. but she's too far and too distracted talking with whoever she's talking to and when he finally reaches the sidewalk during 2:07... Her silhouette is gone. He looks around, feeling a bit lost and maybe, just maybe, a bit desperate when someone calls his name along with a soft touch on his shoulder. It is her. It is finnally her at 2:30 after all these years. He didn't even notice that he was holding breath until remember how to use his voice and say her name. She smiles, he smiles back - a big and bright one (but not so much as her eyes), maybe his first smile in weeks. Suddenly he doesn't know what to talk and all that comes out from his mouth sounds stupid but hides a small laugh and, although they are now too differents and olders and knows nothing abouth each other life, he knows and she knows its gonna be alright because she still uses the same shampoo essence (he can feel the parfum) and he still scratches the back of his neck while nervous (she can see his face going red). He invites her for a coffee, but she is to busy right now and he is also going to be late, so they exchange phone numbers and he keeps looking while she goes back to her friend. And because he was to busy jumping like a crazy while crossing the street, he didn't notice when she looked back on his direction too. Life looks a lot sweeter today.
