Bundeswehr Bear | AEV 3 Kodiak

Today, the tank is an indispensable part of many armies around the world, with powerful offensive and defensive capabilities. Sometimes, battlefield situations require vehicles that are both armored and have the mobility of tanks to perform specific tasks. One such type of vehicle is the armored multiple-purpose engineering system. In essence, this is a heavily modified tank equipped with various pieces of engineering equipment. An excellent example is the AEV 3, nicknamed the ‘Kodiak’, currently in service with four armies in modest numbers. The Kodiak, based on the Leopard 2 MBT chassis, offers a high level of protection, combined with good mobility. With the use of different modules, the Kodiak has a variety of uses, including breaching minefields and destroying or erecting obstacles.

It's one of those things that does not get enough attention. Everyone likes the tanks and 's*xy' things. People tend to forget about the vehicles needed to get them where they need to go.

It would be nice to see an article about the Leooard 1 based Dach or Badger. They were heavily used by the Canadian Army since the early '90's all the way to the Afghanistan mission.

I think it is a natural progression for every military nerd to start with being interested in the sexy front line stuff, the main battle tanks, the fighter jets and so on, but when you get older and understand more about how things work, you become more and more interested in the logistical and support aspects of the military.

Дякую - то гарне відео . А , ще б цим танкам навчитись - добре себе боронити ---- висувними броне пластинами --- що закриє її від пострілів . Є гарний приклад як то має бути ( що показали в ролику з гри --- Feel the heat of War Robots battlefield! ) . Також закрити всі теплові частини --- вогнетривким пінопластом ---- а все верхне , закрити сіткою як в павуків --- з витривалого металевого тросу --- так не буде влучань від малечі - дронів !!! ( Рашка - ж хоче закрити від тепловізеру своїх воїнів --- шкурами оленів ) , то як на мене - ( пінопласт краще працює ---- Termocel Insulation ) . Тому майбутне за ---- єкскаваторами , шагаючі павуки --- з озброенням !!! )))

Ja, aber da das Ding 3-4 mal so schwer ist wie ein durchschnittlicher Bulldozer und 4-5 mal die Motorleistung hat, kann man schon davon ausgehen dass er auch mit schwierigerem Material ganz gut zurecht kommt.
