What is this camouflage pattern? Is it a variant of splintertarn? It does not look like sumpftarn (BGS) or amoeba tarn (zeltbahnen only?). Interesting.
@timetravelinghistorian83416 жыл бұрын
The early Bundeswehr used two new Splittertarn variants for their "Kampfanzug" and a Leibermuster/Splittertarn mixture called "Amöbentarn" for the Zeltbahnen. But those rather modern camouflages were superseded in the late 50s and early 60s for a more "NATO looking" oliv drab combat attire.

@Sturminfantrist6 жыл бұрын
it looks so because of the bad quality of the Film But the Uniforms they used are a type of Wehrmacht Splintertarn camo a post war variant for the BW , only the Helmet is US typ but later the Belgian Helmtyp was used, Gasmask Container is a version of the old one and the gear ist a mix of German parts. So nothing more then the Helmet is US delivered. The Boots are typical Knobelbecher like we had in the german Navy s infantrybranch in the 80`s together with a 2nd pair normal brown boots The german Army even rejected the US BAR and M1919 Machine Guns because they had a better one in WW2 the MG 42, at first original MG 42 from US depots (captured WH types ) were used in Army service but the Ammo WH style caliber 7.92x57 was not interchangable with the Rifle ammo that was NATO Standart at this time 7.62x51 (US Mun) so to have both Rifle and MG mun standarised the germans modified the MG 42 for the Stan NATO Ammo, in BW Service the various version of the MG 42 were renamend MG1/2/3. Ist der Film in Göttingen gedreht? dort gab es eine grosse Kaserne , Üb Platz und auf dem ehemaligen Fliegerhorst Göttingen eine Filmfirma , viell auch nur ne fiktive Ortsansage ?

No this Gasmaskcontainer and Boots are new ones based on the old WH style but a bit diffferent, i had such a pair of Boots ( Knobelbecher in german ) in 79 plus a newer pair with laces in brown but it was horrible to march 25km or 50 km in such Wehrmachtstyle Boots, so i used them for Guard and Garrisonduty only and for march i used Paratropperboots (that i owned before service) or the newer brown Boots with laces introd. in late 70s
