Thanks for sharing this footage. It wasn't that long ago that the Spähpanzer Luchs was removed from service, if I'm not mistaken.

Sadly true. The Luchs was an inrecdible reconnaissance vehicle in its time period, if not the best. I mean, a lot of hype comes with German military vehicles and them being the best in the world. Ofc that's not true in all cases. However, the Luchs is actually an awesome vehicle. I highly recommend researching it a little, if you've never heard of it, 'cause it has some really unusual quirks and features. However, to fully answer your question. The last examples of Spähpanzer Luchs have been taken out-of-service in 2009. The German Army Reconnaissance is now using the Fennek, which again is a quite unique vehicle. _Just by design the Fennek always reminds me of the movie Aliens (Alien 2). I can't help but it looks a bit like a shortened version of this 'M577 armored combat vehicle' Ripley used to break into the 'research facility' in order to rescue those doomed 'space marines'._

First wheeled vehicles looks like a old M8 Greyhound with one pair of wheels in the front. :D And turret is similar of M8 turret :D

Nee, nee, das wurde bereits seit 1973 geübt, damals hieß die Lehrübung " Gepanzerte KFZ der Bundeswehr". Das Programm wurde immermal wieder abgeändert. War damals im FM Zug, der die FM Verbindung zu den einzelnen KFZ hergestellt hat.
