BUNDESWEHR: “Rare lack of instinct” - uniform madness in the Ministry of Defense!
The planned investment of almost one billion euros in new uniforms for the Bundeswehr has met with fierce criticism. Thorsten Jungholt, a defense expert, describes the decision as “a rare lack of instinct”. At a time when the operational capability of the troops is being massively questioned, this issue seems incomprehensible. Jungholt criticizes a “haphazard procurement policy” that implements outdated templates from 2018 instead of prioritizing urgently needed equipment for the troops. Structural problems in the Ministry of Defense, which is considered “bloated” with over 3,000 employees, are also the focus of the debate.
