The OLD kitchen sink & bath tub were AMAZING!!! I have my parent's old clawfoot tub that they couldn't use because they needed a walk-in shower due to age and I am never moving from my home without it! It's narrow & deep and my back rests perfectly against the angled end of the tub.

I totally love this show and this house, very inspirational. We’ve rehabbed over 30 houses, big and small and I don’t know how they can do all that plus HVAC, windows, insulation plumbing , wiring, roof etc etc. and labor for 60k. good job 👍

For some people Renovation is a passion. It is only when you love your job, you can transform even dilapidated space into a valuable asset. Like these two women who did a wonderful job here, we too transform homes and serve our clients with happiness.
@lauriehuber30406 жыл бұрын
Such negative comments below! Obvious these ladies know their business. Pulling down walls bring out lots that need to change to be able to sell (code issues like electric, plumbing and asbestos issues must be part of every Reno). People seem to forget staging items don’t stay with the home...just for show. I think they did a great job! ❤️
@tonibauer29495 жыл бұрын
Laurie Huber you are so right. And this is a cute little vintage bungalow that will appeal to mostly people with a bit of a funky, bohemian style. The furnishings and decor are entirely appropriate. They also understood what type of people want to live in that area, and they aren’t cookie cutter suburbanites. Taking down the writing would be so easy.

I love this show exactly because they salvage what they can, I cringe every time I watch demolition on other shows because I see so many good things being destroyed and throw away.
@dianemcdermott90197 жыл бұрын
I like the design - I agree: drop the word art, the Mr. Mrs. above the bed, the sewing machine cabinet sink. And $60,000 is low for new kitchen 3 new baths, and new master. I notice that flip shows never include holding costs such as insurance, utilities, property taxes, and closing costs to sell. That's my opinion--Diane - 10 year flipper in New Mexico, and author of I Sold My House in a Raffle.
@angelaburress85864 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing that they budget that my money out to cover those expenses when purchasing the house along side the reno budget. That makes logical sense along with they probably got a renovation loan along side of a regular loan to cover those expenses ijs🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
@mybestideas14 жыл бұрын

Gorgeous job! I would like to see ACTUAL costs. How much did the contractor cost? Tearing the asbestos off & completely replacing the outside cost? New roof, plumbing, electrical & those crews? It would make the show even more interesting to see the real costs.
@undomiel1520035 жыл бұрын
And why would it make the show more interesting? You do know prices vary from one state to another, heck, they vary from city to another. So, how can it help? This show is for entertainment purposes only and not as how-to guide on how to do it, what to do, and how much it would cost.

I loved your episode and the repurposed items that were used. However, I have built 6 homes and there is just no way to have the high end appliances and an addition with not only 1/2 bath but a full ensuite as well for 60k.
@は私です彼の名前6 жыл бұрын
I don't think they pay for labor in this show...something is up. Anyway....those appliances are not that high end. That kitchen suite can be purchased for less $2500.
@joannecarroll55046 жыл бұрын
They may be paying wholesale for purchases (not sure about how your tax system over there operates, but our companies can purchase direct from wholesalers, tax-free.) Something else tho, all of the workers on set could be employees of their company, so they don't actually have to pay them by invoice from that '1 house business budget' as you would normally pay contractors who aren't related. So their $60k budget could be just materials & minimal expenses. The labourers, contractors, etc wages are then paid by the company, who usually receives money from the TV people for the "talent" (the people) and also for the "intellectual property" (whose idea it was to make the show) & "artistic content" (if their professional artistic experience is specifically used to better the show). Obviously this all helps to pay everyone, even if it doesn't go directly to them.

Love It or List It is a nightmare of a show. Especially when the homeowner decides to reno their own home. I have no idea how they even make sense of working with those teensy tiny budgets. @joytoyouandme45935 жыл бұрын
That is less than $175 per square foot for the 350 sq ft addition and a kitchen, bath and add 1/2 bath. Totally unrealistic. I would need to see the cost breakdown.

Was that the old sewing machine’s lid in the bathroom on the wall... 😱👍🏻🌸
@creamofthecrop82867 жыл бұрын
For the most part, I do like the finish product = especially the bathroom flooring, the unique pantry doors & sewing machine vanity! That word painting on the wall & the textured wall in the main bathroom = huge turn off. As for the "Mr. & Mrs.", I truly like that idea for the staging; although, I would NOT choose it for a permanent decoration.
@CC-si3cr5 жыл бұрын
The Mr. & Mrs. on the wall was not the best idea when you are selling a home to the masses. You are alienating the LGBTQ community and couples who may not want to get married. Making assumptions when dealing with the public is not the best practice to have in business.

how can you work on a house built in 1909 and not realize there could be asbestos?especially when they have done lots before?
@le_th_5 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. I've never bought or rehabbed a house and I knew those shingles had asbestos in them...because they are made from asbestos...without even needing a test.
@annedwyer7975 жыл бұрын
There are LOTS of houses built 100+ yrs. ago that don't have asbestos siding! But I'll bet the lead plumbing and interior lead paint was still there, though, which probably most unrenovated houses pre-WWll have.
