Something that's insanely cool about this game is the adaptability of the fights. Not only are there four core difficulty settings, but the fights themselves will adapt based on the number of players, changing mechanics or scaling the danger of different attacks to match. Playing it last night with a full group of friends was a blast, but as the night wound down and some had to turn in, I got to see the full scale from 4p tp just 1p and damn. That's a lot of work.

To add to this, it actually feels like playing an almost completely different boss fight between solo and multiplayer. I dont have the luxury of playing with others often but I got reasonable practice at all the solo bisses, but the moment I have to do it on multiplayer I get smoked with all new things to have to suddenly care about

The game seems like it has room for a lot of damage optimization and has a proper rotation of abilities like an MMO. Half of the defensive abilities are dps increases in disguise as well meaning you might not have it when you need it if you were greedy for damage.

on the other hand if you get used to saving the defensives you get wiped by the dps check of the bosses specially in co op

Damn how did nobody think of this. There is a huge addiction in the mmo community for raid encounters so it feels natural to try and mimic it to this extent of mythic boss gimmicks in other genres.

Ah man, in the mouse area I had an amazing first impression, that in a fight you'd hear vocals specific to each boss, since there was one voice when fighting the first, then a duet fighting the pair after... but judging by the third fight I guess it's just one song and that's how it goes.

the dancer main gimmic is you need to use defensive skill as buff attack instead saving it only for damage cause it give "warcry" buff which 30% more damage is a bit risk high damage kinda stuff

Edit/Addition: I think having loot in shops could be a decentish answer to getting more loot while keeping the non-starter stages the same layout-wise. The problem with chests is they heal for free as it is. Not just give you items. Gold potions (which are already worth in my opinion unless you NEED damage potions) and items that give bonus gold (the main one I'm thinking of breaks when you take three hits, so I usually skip it for more damage) would be even more worth it. Especially for the loot that breaks when you take a certain amount of hits, but you get bonus gold. You did really well man. I could feel the 'huh/what' though haha. I having been doing hard from the beginning and almost 10 hours later I've only beaten two areas. That isn't back to back either. That is picking them as the first area to go to and just going over and over. Recommend that if you want to practice certain bosses. If you can handle them with only a few loot items and oneish upgrade, you can handle them later in your run. I am on my third area, but have two more to learn before going for a proper run and the final area. Point is you are doing fine. Glad you followed up and hope you're having fun with it still. Random blocks of text follow. Heavyblade is so slow it can be suffering if you can't use leap effectively. Some bosses are away from where you want to be so it can be on the rough side when learning. I started on hard and man do some of those fights with no speed buffs become a struggle. You were doing fine though. Just learning indicators takes time with them. Being able to pick the first area (after the starter area the outskirts) is really nice for practicing areas. That is what I'm doing before I attempt a full hard run. Go as far as I can, but primarily trying to beat/learn each area the best I can. The number outside of parenthesis is potency. I don't know if you registered it, but you did read out load that spark was every second. The 5s was the time the effect/status/debuff lasted For druid, you can put out more than one butterfly at a time. The funny thing I was doing in the demo is damage up for special on top of faster cooldown. I was basically just setting up my turrets doing assloads of damage. Once I had their damage really high with burn on hit. It was quite funny. Curse would have been good for such a build too because of the bonus damage. That and bleed for the extra flat damage when taking damage.

Been really excited about this from reading it, only to come here to finally see it and be very visually disappointed lol. I had it in my mind it was a 3D game that would actually be like doing dungeon raids, but with a rouguelike touch. Guess not 😂

The fights remind me of the ones in Undertale, where you have to avoid the projectiles in the box with your tiny pixel heart. I think these characters may also only have a small hitbox, the little circle in the middle of their sprites, and that's the part that needs to avoid damage sources.
@sladevalen2120

You are correct about the ball being the actual hitbox. You can be really greedy with movement since your hitbox is deceptively small

this looks fun, although, it really seems like a much more simplistic version of 'the void reigns upon her heart', which isn't a bad thing. 'void reigns' is one of the best games i've ever played in the 35+ years i've been playing games. if you haven't checked it out yet, go buy it immediately. it's nearly perfect, and, has more (quality) content than any game really has any right to, especially one made by a single dev. i'd love if you did a series of videos on it.

you have different mechanics when you play solo or multiplayer. solo has a lot more bullet hell, multi has more MMO mechs.
@maxxsaigen5301
@maxxsaigen5301 21 күн бұрын
While I do think the void reigns upon her heart is a fun game, I wouldn't call it more complicated or even that rabbit and steel is a more simplified version. Void reigns is pretty grindy early on without much decision making (40 hours of game time and I'm still grinding ) just to be able to play the game as a normal roguelike and most of the combat boils down to dodge bullets and occasionally throw out a charge attack. The items aren't really that unique either, most of them are just forms of damage buffs. Warranted there are some cool boss mechanics that require you handle each fight differently. I think Rabbit and steel has more interesting combat and items, obviously less grindy, multiplayer, and some also unique interesting boss mechanics, but definitely less boss content than void reigns and a lot less game modes than void reigns. I think both games are good and bad at different things, but with how much different the games are, I wouldn't call rabbit and steel a simplified version. Otherwise we could argue every bullet hell game in existence is a simplified version of another bullet hell. They are the same genre but handle things completely differently. Also want to make it very clear, despite my issues with void reigns, I still think its in the top 3 bullet hell games for sure. I just wish they had an unlock all button if they haven't implemented it already because having to grind just to play the game as intended burnt me out and I never got to try the more fun sides modes all that much.

TVRUHH is a wonderful roguelike, but it generally focuses more on fast patterns over complex ones. Rabbit & Steel gets very tricky to think your way through, especially with more players; in my experience, 4-player is almost comically more difficult than solo, due to managing a huge array of mechanics that require precisely fitting everyone into patterns while also managing mechanics like grouping randomized pairs of players together or staying out of the columns everyone else is in.

@@awesomefuzz4008 point taken, but, just to be clear, i wasn't trying to throw shade at this game, it looks fun and i'm probably going to grab it myself. also, my only exposure to it had been this video, so my comments about it were made solely based on what i saw in it.
