This may be the cutest thing in the WORLD. The great thing about it too is that the rabbits wouldn't do if if they didn't think it was fun! Also, I love that it's totally a thing in Scandinavia.

I once had a rabbit that would have LOVED doing this! She loved people, loved to play, loved to show off, and could jump like no tomorrow. If only I knew that the sport existed. I miss her! Maybe my next rabbit will be a good show jumping rabbit.

so cute :D however, do bunnies develop leg problems like dogs or horses might when they are jumped to much/often?

That video just made it on to my favourites list. That is definatly that most amazing video i've ever seen. My rabbit's kinda fast, and moults alot but thats about it. Her ears are about 1 1/2 inches long to and she about toaster-size. Shes a dwarf rabbit but you wouldnt be able to tell if you couldnt see her ears. XD

Me neither, until a week ago. Apparently bunny show jumping has a big following in Sweden and smaller followings in Denmark and England - and the bunnies love it...

Yes, I completely agree that people should understand and appreciate the commitment and effort required if they want to keep a pet. And that bunnies require an enormous ongoing effort to keep them healthy and happy. However, you also seem to be saying that cute pet videos shouldn't be posted because they may prompt some people to get a pet. You therefore place huge responsibility on those who post cute pet videos, but it's not obvious to me whether that's correct. Needs some more thought...

(comment continued from previous)...I should know (not saying my Midnight will jump on command) but you have to gain the creature's trust before you can get it to obey you. You continue to respect and care for your rabbit throughout the rest of its life.

I've heard of this sport. ^^ My rabbit, BunBun, can scale his cage wall with ease, so I have to have a roof on it at all times to prevent him from hurting himself. I was consittering getting into this sport, however, BunBun is a stubborn mule. xD I don't think he'd be able to tollerate training/harness/SCHEDULES, etc... He is a little diva. He really is. But, bless his heart, I love him so. ^^ Bless. =3 Those bunnies are so beautiful. (And cooperative!)

If you've ever cared for rabbits you could tell they're not terrified. Terrified rabbits have their ears flat back and they hunker down to the floor to make themselves invisible. Those rabbits are just fine, especially the first one who sits up happily for his owner to pick him up after the jump!

(continued from previous comment)...Rabbits also work through positive experience, so like some said if the rabbit did not want to jump they would not, that would mean they have not jumped that high enough times to not only trust experience, but their owner. If that was the case, those people would not be in the competion.

theres a massive community of rabbit breeders, they have regular meets and publications (Just cos it aint sponsored by Nike!). Some would call it obsesive others would say passionate. Im interested to know what you think constitutes having a life? maybe they are breeding a new race of super rabbit.
@zakuraRabbit17 жыл бұрын
That is adorable:) Just to mention to all of you who think this is cruel: I have been to SEVERAL contests, not once seen a bunny get hurt. "The rabbits can get injured" How exactly is that supposed to happen? Rabbits are built to jump. They're just as good jumpers as horses, if not better! (Judging by their sizes)

"The harnesses can hurt them" In Norway, there are strong regulations on the harness, to ensure the rabbits can't injure themselves on it:) These are specially designed for the buns, and doesn't hurt them. Rabbits under 3 months shouldn't wear harnesses because their skeletons aren't completely developed, and rabbits under 4 months aren't allowed into competitions.
