And poop has been modelled to be kinda important (like, poop is already important to dogs, and the poop button goes outside and gets you attention) so maybe it's Bunny's way to show affection?

When I worked in the intellectual disability field, one of the people I worked with had a limited vocabulary. He didn't know how to express what he wanted, but made up simple, repetitive, and untrue stories that were always the same, only the names may had changed, if you tried to verify. He had a pattern of starting communication with "The other day". He didn't have a grasp on how to verbalise tense other than sort of parroting phrases he had deliberately been taught. One other worker took the time to correct him every time he said something in present tense, or no tense, when he was talking about something in the past. One day he used past tense correctly and efficiently, on his own, without any correction or encouragement. We were amazed and delighted. He had been excitedly watching a motorbike in a paddock across the road the day before, and next day went to the fence and, instead of just saying " The other day there was motorbike", or something like that, he just came out with "I saw a motorbike." Its hard to explain the whole situation. But this was an amazing leap for him. The brain and consciousness are extraordinary.

Ok, this is actually pretty crazy. I can understand knowing sound as a concept and I assume that you modeled settle for things like calming down. So did she realize herself that she could combine sound and settle to tell things to be quiet? The thought process alone for that is immense, because it shows that word definitions aren't concrete in her mind and that a word and it's use can have multiple. Stella has shown this a little with Outside Water replacing her Beach button, which shows that she knows that the beach is a place with water and isn't just pressing it because she knows she gets taken to a place she likes. Also, this is quite interesting that she is expressing a desire like this. Usually you think of Pets desires in a more tangible sense, like Food, sleep, bathroom, play, but here she just simply doesn't like the sound of a cat meowing?

Years ago, I read an article in National Geographic about animal intelligence. One animal in iy was a parrot. It knew "banana" and "apple", and would ask for each by name. Later, after it had had oranges (I think) a few times, it started asking for them as well. But it didn't know what they were called, so it called them "banapples". The bird made up a new word for a new thing, based on the words it already had. Animals are mich smarter than we realize, we just have such poor methods of communication with each other. Except deer. Deer are dumb as rocks.

To me, she's getting clearer with even the more abstract things, and I really wish you all the best... At meeting her, I'd hope she'd she'd ask you who I am and why. There must be frustrating times when neither of you can get to the same place! I can see neither of you want to give this up... Aaand I kinda ran out of steam here. I don't even know why I'm trying to post this, or what the point was except that I know a dog who isn't mine, and I can feel MY relationship with him is between US specifically... Today, I met him and we interacted as only we do: including a tiny thing even his Own Human can't ask of him... Cos that's how he and I roll. I think... Yes. I feel privileged that you share this with the world. That I see it, and it it encourages me to look beyond behaviour. To see and experience the DOG (or cat or ferret, etc) themselves. Please don't stop (even if you stop sharing publicly), for I believe you'll all be the richer for it... And have you asked Bunny whether she knows about how famous and loved she is?
