Welcome to Balor Otherworld.
Balor O'Brien, druid, and bard, will take you on a journey through history to a brutal civil war that was fought in Ireland.
Both sides called upon dark forces from the Otherworld. Power-hungry, Thomas de Clare sacrificed his own allies. Strangely, he has two listed dates of death, the first being shrouded in secrecy and a terrifying night at Bunratty Castle.

My mother was Margaret O'Brien . Perhaps she is related to this clan . Her father was Alexander O 'Brien, his father Laurent O'Brien , think the came to Canada in the mid 1800''s My mother married an East Prussian , however she was always proud of her Irish Ancestry . Awesome video very interesting .

Thanks for the support Alex! Yeah the O'Brien's originally came from around Clare, Limerick (thomond). You could contact Clare Local Studids Centre to see if you can trace your Irish family. I worked there years ago and so many people have been blown away by the details that were preserved there. Sounds like your family had some fascinating travels

@@balorotherworld5810 will do on my mother's French Canadian side her mother a Quintin they have traced it back to the Frankish Kingdom and also to Normandy during the time of William . It would be interesting to find out the O' Brien side will take me .

Absolutely! We have amazing stories of the O'Deas of Dysart O'Dea. They were actually involved in this O'Brien civil war. Will give them special focus soon

I need to revisit it but from my memories they are the family of Maire Rua who was thought of as a witch by some, buried inside a tree and her son or grandson built Dromoland Castle. If dromoland let me film there I'll do a series there. Otherwise it'll be Maire's family home in august
