I was a previous #! user. I'm glad BunsenLabs is continuing the spirit of CrunchBang. I'm getting a new mini PC that has Ubuntu preinstalled in a few days. I will be replacing Ubuntu with BunsenLabs Boron as soon as I get it. Hopefully I will be happy with it as I was with Wheezy and Waldorf.

Crunchbang++ is the real successor, BL is nothing like the old CB.

i remember my experience using BL helium, it's a good OS, but i switch to debian now, i love my own custom OS using debian.

Looks interesting, but has a major flaw: it uses systemd, like most (but not al) Debian-based distros do. And it's not lightweight either... it consumes 1 Gb of RAM at startup, even with Openbox as the window manager. A full XFCE system (with bluetooth, picom, etc) takes over at least 250 Mb less RAM on my system.

@@arturofatturi9490 Thank you for pointing this out. Crowz still uses elogind - which is a minus - but it's definitely lightweight and an interesting option.

Nice video! I just installed Bunsenlabs on my wife's 2018 cheapo laptop yesterday. Gotta admit it was just because I couldn't get Bodhi to boot properly. It's runs well. Not super snappy but adequately. The Openbox menu is responsive and well-designed. I had terrible Ubuntu flashbacks when I saw the big fat left-side vertical tint2 panel but was glad to see it was easily moved without too much haxing. I'll pretty much use the laptop for Morrowind modding so I was dismayed to see the latest OpenMW package isn't available. How very Debian. Thank god for those backport repos. Also, why can't I find flatpack? I'm too dumb for this.
