I've got to hand it to this young lady. I'm a Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship (1974-1978) guy, who remains fascinated with music from those eras. But this woman can really sing. Wow. ..also, great to see Paul (RIP) and David. Both great musicians.

What a fabulous performance of a classic Grace Slick/ Jefferson Starship song. Cathy's delivery , articulation of lyrics and impassioned vibrato do Grace justice. A stellar artist paying homage to a rock legend.

This track, was for me, an important psychedelic anthem during the 1970s. When I noticed this performance in my KZbin recommendations, I was nervous that it might disappoint. How wrong could I have been? This is an extraordinary performance and does absolute justice to Grace Slick's original recording. Well done!

Great tune/video...Cathy Richardson has been one of my favorite musicians for the past three years (since i've had kids). She is a regular on the childrens' show "Jack's big music show" and also does the voice of Jack's mom. I was pleasantly surprised when i did a search on her. Some of the music/singing she does on that show is just amazing and when i heard she was with J.S. i thought "yep, she's perfect for that"...If you ever get the chance to see her do some scat, you're in for a treat

Really good job; hey did anybody see the movie Arrival? It is about how time is circular, not linear; that movie came out in 2016, and this song was written by Grace in 1974! I thought I was the only one that had a special connection to this song; but hey; Cathy is to be saluted; she is the only one on that stage just giving it her all; nobody can cover Grace without criticism, she did a helluva great cover here....

It's amazing how young Grace still looks! Also quite different with her hair blonde now.

Yeah Cathy beats Dianne but neither with no disrespect come close to Grace slick for hairs on end tears in eyes laughter & joy at just the sound of her voice. Only one I've even heard close to Gracie is Patti Smith. VALE PAUL KANTER RIP I love you man
@Exiles8008 жыл бұрын
+dimethaltryptamine1 Goes unsaid. Grace is a singer who leaves you worshiping and in love with her. I can see from this video why Grace recommends Cathy because she has good attack and tone that fits what Grace was doing as far as sound. Grace - oh man! I want her to come take my soul when I die. Angel, goddess, deity on Earth...(But one who will rip you a new one with her wit, which is the type of woman I like. lol)

@CookOfTheHouse Yeah I was kidding, but this is the 1st time I have heard this Starship stuff from the early/mid 70's and it's pretty damn good. I was early teens and remember when they regained popularity with wind's of change etc, but was never that into it. With a lot of the bands that have been around, especially RUSH, I prefer their raw 70's sound to the more key board/techno sound that came into play in the early 80's. Yes & early Genesis are other bands that had talent.

damn. for some reason the words seem to make more sense now than they did when Grace used to sing this. Is it Cathy or is it the passing of time?

Must say that the thing I liked about Slick Aguilar is that He never copied Jorma, Craig or even on occasion Jerry's licks but made the song His own, this guy obviously a late substitute is trying to play straight Craig and credit to Him not a bad job on a song probably learned at short notice....read once in an interview that after Signe's departure there were only two female singers in SF Grace and Janis ...Cathy makes You wonder what a Janis JA and JS would have sounded like..

@cowboysfan782008 I actually like the Jefferson Airplane Stuff and Jefferson Starship but only till the Earth LP, I can barely listen to the next albums!! If I want to listen to a 70's pop/rock band, I'd pick Wings, one of my favourites!

I loved diane fer shure ...but I think Kathy cops Grace's edge a bit more (despite bein a blond!) Grace was a total radical....and a yippie!

Wow, she's got a very powerful voice - so, she doesn't exactly sound like Grace Slick but she's awesome, too.
