Bur-Mil Park Mountain Biking | North Carolina | Hidden gem of the South

Thanks for tuning in to Sploosh MTB! Today we're changing it up, Sploosh is going south! Specifically around Greensboro/Asheboro, NC. The Bur-Mil Park trails are very MTB friendly and had a lot in store for us, even a close-by skills line and a jump line tucked way deep in the singletrack.

You were in Greensboro. Big Loop to Owl's Roost to Shady Side. Rode these three just last week. Greensboro has about 16-20 trails just in that area. Probably the most popular is Wild Turkey. Two people have died riding Wild Turkey so be careful. The standing time to beat is 18:30. I can only do it in 25 or more myself. That's 18:30 in just one direction- from the marina to the greenway (it's 4.5 miles). But to get back to your car you have to ride it back to start (9 miles total). Two of the best around are in Lexington, NC called Finch Park (5 mile trail) and The Ridge (6.5 mile trail).

I went here recently but couldn't find the skills park, I looked around the park but couldn't find it. Like you said, it was probably tucked away in the woods where you would need to ride some trails to get to it. But for the life of me i could not find the skills park 😅

Take copperhead to the right and eventually you'll see it. That's how I found it.

Awesome vid! I see you went to Owl's roost, The Shady's trail was actually just recently finished up. There are some crazy parts on both trails. Back at the Skills park, there are a handful of really fun and relaxed trails connected to it called the copperhead trails, definitely give it a try the next time you drive through 😄

@@splooshmtb Also check out the watershed trails. Wild Turkey>Reedy Fork>Blue Heron>King Fisher. King Fisher has some really good jump lines. If you do an out and back you can get roughly 50 miles
