Parts List:
9- 2x4x8' (I'd recommend buying 10 to cover any mistakes)
1-sheet lauan flooring underlayment
1- box 3 inch galvanized wood screws
1-box 1 1/4 galvanized wood screws or staples
1 qt primer
1 qt paint
or get 1 qt or stain if staining
If you want two coats of paint may want 2 qts or gal depending on cost.

Excellent tutorial. I am a grandma of 4 young toddlers and was easily able to follow your instructions and complete the project for my backyard. If you can make a quilt, you can make a sandbox! Very good directions!

Thanks! I think I will try this. The lid looks tough for my skill level though. I will probably try to put the seats slightly under the top of the frame by an inch or so and just use a piece of plywood which I'll cut just a bit smaller than the frame as the lid so it will sit inside the frame supported by the seats.

I plan on running a 2x4 flat in the middle so I can add a liner and staple the middle to something.

I painted this one It holds up fine I think you're biggest problem would be location based Like someone from South Africa would be dealing with bugs that would probably eat this in two weeks but in the US of A I feel you should get a few good years at least out of it Cover will be first to go

It’s a private track. I’m out of Ohio. This one is west of Cleveland if you’ve been out that way.
