I needed a word to describe moving along the canal on a serial electric hybrid narrowboat. Conventional words like motoring and chugging don’t really hit the spot. I hit on “burbling”, which is the noise made when the prop disturbs the water as we glide serenely along. “We burbled our way along the Caldon canal”. This video nicely illustrates the sound we make. We burble!
