That's an unusually long run for such a narrow gauge railway. I'd be interested in knowing how it came about, and whether it's operated professionally or on a purely amateur basis. With such a long run, I'd think that it could actually carry passengers who need to travel, and not just for tourist/fun purposes.

It was originally a standard gauge railway from the 1880s until 1963 I believe. It opened as a narrow gauge line in the 1990s.

It's 13 miles long. Sometimes half marathons are run along the footpath beside the track
