These remake videos are neat but what he makes really isn't close to a BK Whopper - but I'm sure they taste good. Maybe they are inspired by the original. I would love to see a cost breakdown on his ingredients and per burger cost. My guess the BK whopper is cheaper....

When i worked at BK way back when, thats what they use for cooking the meat. A conveyor belt that run it through the broiler. And theres a slot on one end that is used for chicken. And you place a bin on the other side for the cooked side to catch the chicken once it's done.

I am from Montana and had never had a Burger King whopper until I joined the Army in 1995. The reason I’d never tried them before was because my buddy, who was also my mentor was always saying the patties were supper thin and just not good. So after I got to AIT where all Army folk do their training, one of my friends and I were walking around the post and it was lunchtime on a weekend and I got a whiff of what seemed to me to be a delightful smell. I asked my friend if he smelled it and what it was, he said oh that’s burger king. Long story short, tried my first whopper in 1995 and have decided it’s one of the best fast food burgers!

Oh ya and youre 100% correct getting that cut and waiting to grind it. My dad and I used to do that all the time because buying ground beef its already questionable.. If you just get the cut and grind it yourself its more sanitary and you arent exposing all that ground beef to days and days of oxidation and decay. Wait till the last second to expose all that surface area.

I know it was forever ago but I noticed little things like, burger king used to smoke from thier chimneys and you could smell the beef being flame broiled from a distance. Now they use a conveyor belt and I don't think they really cook the meat anymore. Am I going crazy or is this happening to anyone else out there. that looks like a winner to me. i like the bacon in the burger. As a german i have one more suggestion. make a burger with say 60 40 or so beef and pork, season it before you make the patties, so the seasoning is on the inside and does not burn. chop a little onion and put that in before you make your patties. The pork adds flavor and it also makes it WAY juicier. i basically make a large meatball and then flatten that some. definitely leave it on the thicker side. you will not need 2 patties. brown it really good, say 3-4 minutes per side. finish it over medium heat. It will stay juicy, i promise. Never crossed my mind to deep fry the bacon, but then again, i make mine in the cast iron pan, and fry my fries in the bacon grease. half an inch is enough. no deep frier needed. put some proper german fry seasoning on after. think paprika, cayenne, coarse salt, cumin, coriander, garlic, etc.
