Suggestion: All entry doors should be solid: NO GLASS: This eliminates several weaknesses. Definitely use 3+ inch screws, security door strike, and a ANSI 1 lock set. Also, reinforce the door hinges with longer screws.Very informative video; thank you!

@@taz24787 Get you some GRK R4 screws. They are structural screws with huge amounts of sheer strength. Another good brand is Spax (made in USA). Get them in 3 inch length and diameter of #8 or #10. Pre-drill the holes with a 1/8th drill bit so that the screws don't split/crack the wood.

Your content is so critical. I don’t know how much people realize that we are under a much higher level of threat from marauders, burglars, and home invasions. In addition to being more frequent, they are also more violent now. There’s a lot of information coming from southern states where people are being killed in their homes and if they barricaded themselves inside, the attackers set the house on fire and killed them as they come out. You cannot do too much of this kind of contact. Please keep up the good work.

Security window film. Makes it harder, not impossible, but slows them way down - gives you time, time buys you options. Hopefully you'll have cameras as well, so if you're not home, then you can capture the event and call the appropriate authorities.

​​​​@@jcm9698the security film is junk. Basically snake oil. They buy 10 to 15 seconds if lucky even though they are advertised for much longer. You are best off purchasing doors with security in mind. If all else fails, there are window glazing materials that can be retrofitted to doors and actually give you security. Products like polycarbonate laminated and school guard glass which was created in response to sandy hook. For a home and for the price I guess something is better than nothing. But when I consult with places like schools or churches I tell them to save there money and come up with a proper long term replacement plan for window glazing especially at primary points of entry.
