For anyone saying this should have been released, listen to this and then immediately listen to Wayfaring Stranger and everything will make sense…same with Afterglow and Wolf Cub…and while examining stems I have come to the conclusion NYC and Four Walls share many of the same samples, and key, and probably are a product of the same session

It's extremely hard to find a good bit rate on this specific song. Mostly because it's unreleased, and the true high quality track was deleted on Bevan's HDD when it failed.

@ncshuriken Totally. I've tried to make drum and bass and dubstep, and I'm not terrible at it, but I can't do it too much without sounding really generic. Lately I've just been not even worrying about what genre it is and just trying to evoke feelings and moods and stuff with it, and in my own opinion it's been going a lot better.

his drums are dry samples, pitched up, and someimtes cut into fine layers. then there is a slight reverb/echo on other parts e.g the wood block..... if you find a decent sample pack you are half way there. then you have got to master the pitch shifting of vocals and ambients so they become ulmost unrecogniseable. burial has it down to a tee. keep it up : )

Burial should definitely have gone into this hard direction a bit more with snarky percussion and heavy basses. I do like his stuff, but I think he wasted this strain of potential a bit.

So let me get this straight, please because I'm struggling to understand and I need to understand ok... so Burial has True Love VIP, that track Kode 9 played in Barcelona which is all over KZbin, Gaslight, and that one with Four Tet with no name which is also all over KZbin which someone ripped from a radio station, never mind also the one ripped from radio with Instra:mental and dBridge, then Deity with Goldie all of which are absolutely unbelievable tracks, I mean we're talking game changing tunes right... yet he decides to release subtemple and beachfires?!?!?!? Burial, I love your music, I own all of it on vinyl ok, I check google all the time for new releases and queued up 16 hours on record store day for your inner city life remix which I thought was great, but seriously, those 2 tracks are nothing compared to this unreleased stuff... we know you have better and that's what's frustrating. In all honesty CraSet and E.lemental have overtaken you this year so far. CraSet's EP "The Way" from 2015 sounds like something I would have expected from you this year, but he did it 2 years ago and this year you have given me subtemple and beachfires... 🤔

mngx yeh i heard that rumour, after i did this post 3 years ago. But to be honest it’s never been confirmed as Burial stays pretty much silent. From what i’ve heard the majority of the tracks he has collabed with Four Tet, dBridge etc they haven’t been able to release due to label rights, i know NonPlus have tried to release a couple but have come up against issues. So there seems to be a lot more that goes on when trying to release some of these tracks then meets the eye. Hyperdub seem to own a lot of rights to his earlier stuff and it’s also whether they Kode9 releases them on the label or not, the one he played in Barcelona which is on KZbin is an example of an awesome track he would play just to tease the fans but would likely never release as it doesn’t suite the style of the label. Obviously this is all stuff i’ve heard and it’s not confirmed but i’ve done some work with some labels and it’s just stuff i’ve heard being passed around.

But I’ve got a few of them and I might resurrect them. I lost faith. I want to learn but its difficult, I've made mistakes. Next album maybe I'll gather my forces, make a true darkside Burial album. Step up and do it.

@Texhnishan their game is not beats, its mixing sets and pirate radio... so anything thatll grasp the listener's attention will work... recycling same sonorities is common within such a musical environment, simply because they can afford it... they dont need to sound commercial... they just have a vibe and deep grooves... and the people love that... each of their artist is a world of his/her own... great stuff really. music shouldnt be formulaic, or ethic, or wtv.. burial is skilled.

Nah I ain't succesful man, thats the joke of it LOL. I haven't put much of my stuff out there (even though I've got LISTS worth of tunes). I'm paranoid about people hearing my uncopyrighted tunes, then ripping me off. Its already happened once, years back, and it messed my head up. A lot of people keep saying you need to forget about it, and just start putting tunes out again, and its true, if I dont, then the only people who will ever hear my stuff are my immediate friends. make a clean beat. then chop it up in a decent music program. then use this vst with it. "Glitch v1.3.04 VST"..... this will get closer to the sound you're looking for. but you will have to spend a bit more time with the reverbs etc..... also try downloading off sample sites for sounds of rain and vinyl hissing, burial has a lot of this layered gently in the background. do you ever use ableton?

I just constantly translate the vibes that play in my head, to the speakers. Fuck slapping a label on it. I might be in bed at 5am, or in the shower, then suddenly a sick tune plays in my head.
