That bottle you put the shovel through, I wonder if you could smooth the edges where it broke because it would look so cute with dainty flowers sticking out of it. Add vases to your shop with some of the weird broken one. Just my opinion. Sounds cool. Love your videos, treasure hunting is my favorite. ❤

Your wife giggles at the name "Titchner". Hilarious!!! So nice to see the whole crew. Great video, thanks for the hard, hot, sweaty work. You had BETTER glue that "try me" back together, too much of a gem not to. Dad gum, you guys do a great job.

The crock piece you found is for salt cakes for cows to lick. The top is open to put the salt in and the bottom is partially open so the cows can lick the salt. It has two holes in the back so it can be mounted to a post. I have one I dug and it has the same writing as the piece you found on one side and a name and the city on the other.

Roto Salt Feeder, This feeder is loaned for use with Roto Salt Cakes Only, dug one myself. Pretty common, I am sure you'll eventually get one. It was a salt feeder for horses.

If I’m not mistaken, the tiny try me wasn’t a sample size.. it was a bottle of syrup that you added to your own carbonated water.. some years back, I had a ton of small bottles, some embossed and some with paper labels and they had the instructions on there

I love watching all your digs and creek walks. You find some amazing items. If you ever find anything International Harvester or IHC, I'm always in the market. They made spark plugs, cookie cutters, thimbles, etc, etc, etc. Really, anything of old tractors I'm interested in, but IHC is my favorite.

I love to watch your digs! You find such interesting things. I live on family land with a trash dump over the hill. I have no idea far back they started using that area as a dump, but they were still using it sometimes even after we bought the property (without our knowledge). My kids used to rummage around on the surface. They thought bottles from the 80's were old as dirt. Lol. There's no telling what's below all the modern stuff... Unfortunately, they outgrew any interest in digging through trash 😊

WOW !!!!! What a honey hole. That pit just keeps on giving. I always wonder why some of the spots you dig (possibly the same dump site ) will have very few sodas and more houshold trash or vise versa. You would think it would be kind of an even spread. Awesome video, awesome finds, especially that masons pat.jar. Thank you guy for continuing to bring history out of the ground and back to life. As always thanks for taking us along.
@adventurearchaeology Жыл бұрын
I think it depended on how rich the people were and where there trash got dumped. Poor people would drink water before soda so that could explain the limited sodas. Plus the 20s started the Great Depression so less money to spend on non essentials.
