Mikel balled that day. Nigeria had so many chances to kill off the game but Musa, Moses and Ideye fluffed their lines Musa's slip almost caused Bfaso to equalize on the counter. Shout out to Mba for stepping up to score like he did vs Ivory coast. RIP Stephen Keshi. Memories.

I remember thinking about Sunday Mba for some time when I remembered the final. I didn't admire Burkina Faso's play on that day. Sunday Mba's goal was odd twist to the match for me because I had expected that with my impression of Burkina faso's play, we would score easily. I could no longer see the goal coming by the time it eventually came. The goal was eked out (thank God).

It is not even the trophies he won for me, it is about the fact that he was a wonderful human who paved the way for a lot of his peers and brought them along at the height of his success as a player. Osiasia ( that's hoe big boss called him), Eguavoen, Rufai,; Adesina, Lamptey and a very long etcetera all owe their European careers to the Big Boss of Nigerian football!

Yo, I thought I was the only one thinking the same thing. We had so many stars in that 2000-2002 era. It still surprises me how they never won the AFCON. Can you believe Kanu never won an AFCON title. Even when we had the likes of Martins, osazie, yakubu, Olofinjana, obodo, Utaka, Taiwo & Yobo at their prime, we still didn't win it.

Nigeria team, big stars, big boys, all round champions league players, my favourite player of this team is Onazi, the engine room of SS Lazio, then the A, very stubbo player, wowNigeria is so blessed, a football genius is born everyday in Nigeria, corruption is the problem of Nigerian Football, they have all it takes to rule, can you imagine how they played this final, they outplayed Burkina Faso and entertained the crowd, very interesting watch, I was there at t

What do you mean, do you think it was easy then for a teenager like Onazi holding the midfield of a team like Lazio, he was the best young midfielder in the world as at then and lots of top clubs were after him for his signature, Lazio failed to release him and we went ahead to play for Lazio for 5 years

He was the best defensive midfielder in the world, mention any midfielder of 18 years of age at that time playing regularly for a top club in a top league, before then he was named in the champions league youth team of the year, Nigeria had 2 players in the youth team of the year with Kenneth Omeruo also 18 year of age at that time and was just signed by Chelsea, I can see you know nothing about African football
