One of the best music hall songs - given a most enjoyable interpretation. Great to see someone doing modern justice to it, aided and abetted by the musical accompaniment.. This is fun! Love it.

Thank you for your message. It is interesting that you are writing an essay on music hall songs and more traditional authors of that era. If possible, please let me know where I will be able to see your essay.

Hello Songsmith, I am so pleased to receive your most kind compliments. It is good to know that you appreciate these classic songs. I play the musical accompaniment on my keyboard. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the fun in this song. Thank you. Best wishes Maurice `

I have since put the whole lyric to memory and even enjoyed a little updating for my own pleasure -as follows... "I'm all airs and graces; know all the right faces And make sure that I'm seen in all the right places..." and I "I'm Burlington Bertie, I rise at ten thirty Abd reach Kempton Park filled with glee I stand by the rail when a horse is for sale I do so admire pedigree..." (The trick is to keep the right scan/rhythm) It's good exercise for the memory and fun too!!

I thought the original line about reaching "Kempton Park around three" was a bit wayward when reading the later line that includes "...and I bid good morning". Eh...at three in the afternoon?! Keep up the good work with your versions of these famous old songs... every one a part of our musical heritage.

Hello I think that Burlington Bertie is a lazy lie a bed who gets up at about one or two o'clock and he thinks this is early morning. He does not call three o 'clock the afternoon. I do agree with you about our musical heritage. My channel now has a section listing my Music Hall songs. Best wishes Maurice

Seems to go well with Horace Duke of Worthing.
