I think this short film has 3 parts . I think first 42 seconds is Shin Pyu festival( Ordination ceremony ). from 0:43 to 8:29 is PhoneGyi Byan parade( Cremation ceremony for head monk ) . Third parts is at 8:29 , which i think is home film short at Inlay lake.

Thank you so much for your explanation because I first saw young boys and though it must be Shi Pyu, which is so familiar to me since my brother experienced when he was 3 years old but later scene it becomes suddenly big ceremony. I was wondering why and your comment makes sense.

Noticed that the video mixed with two ceremonies the one was in Rangoon and the other one was in Inle lake, Shan State.
It is monk funeral ceremony.I am proud for my country rich culture.

What was the purpose of this parade? It seems festive and not somber. Great upload. Thank you.
@crewmatewillthrowthesehand76004 жыл бұрын
Its actually funeral rites for one of the most senior rank or holy monks. Only if the monk is extremely respected and regarded to be very holy is this done for them. Most likely to be nationwide respected monk. They have a mourning session accompanied by traditional orchestra with sorrowful tune which isnt shown here. Afterwards only the normal citizens join the festivities I think to wish the monk well for his good deeds in this life and him now going into a better life in the heavens or attaining nirvana. You can see all the monks and nuns are sombre throughout because they are religious folks and cant do the same festivities as the normal folks. I believe the casket is in 2:13. and it goes on the elephant at 4: 44

@@ashokkumar-se5sl Bruh king and queens were long gone (1885) after the british colonized burma. Burma was the second richest asian nation after japan during that time then but in 1962, the military overthrew the democratic government and turned the country into a hell hole
this parade is for when a prominent buddhist monk died.

How rich Myanmar in the time of British Empire. You can see PRACTICALLY. As a sign in Tiger of Asia accept Japan. In The same time in UK and EU civilian were give up their home countries and Running to America because of their un comfortable family income and tex accept a few rich people. Those times their minister salaries were many more less than Myanmar minister salaries the worth gold 3 and half VASS . Some people call them slave of British. Actually UK , Euro and American Came and slept in Myanmar and all of the world . Those times under the civilian of Bamar king were running to British Empire. Every of Asia Countries were came and work in Myanmar.
