Doctor Berry, I found you on you tube about 3 1/2 months ago, and decided to try the Carnivore, after my doctor told me I was prediabetic and diagnosed with fatty liver. I am 6'3" male and weighed 260 Ilbs., but after a little over 3 months I have lost 43 pounds, and feel so much better. I go back to my doctor next month, and I am interested to see my blood work results. I thank you for your information and advice.

@@pukasmom the fiber to carbohydrate ratio of most fruits is pretty low. sure some fruits have vitamins but if you are consuming high amounts of sugar your body will not be able to use those vitamins effectively. Unsweetened almond milk is okay but it is full of omega-6 pro-inflammatory fatty acids, so don't over do it.

Dr Ken Berry's my hero! Found him 2 years ago this September. I've lost 85 lbs following his advice. I'm a 78 year old female that takes zero medication and am now walking almost 2 miles a day. I have a 75 year old sister that started after seeing my results and she is down 48 pounds so far. Thank, Dr Berry! I constantly play your videos to keep me motivated.

Wow, Congratulations! Did you lose all that weight on keto? I've tried keto on and off for about 10 yrs . Lost some wieght here an there but couldn't seem to stick to it. Too many choices w keto:) I have a lot of autoimmune issues, hashis, tons of inflamation, pain etc and 100 lbs to lose. I feel excellent on carnivore (3 mo now) but have zero weightloss. Curious about how you lost the weight!

Yo Dr. Berry, three months ago I tried on an old pair of dress pants and was shocked to discover I had to overcome a 2 inch gap to button them! No matter how hard I tried to suck in my gut I was unsuccessful and gave up. Right then I began following you on the interweb and switched my eating habits to Keto. I am 6' tall and at my physical back then, I was a doughnut shy of 200 lbs (196) my blood pressure was 154/90, and I had a long standing patch of eczema on each hip. Here's the tale of the tape: I weighed in this morning at 176 lbs, blood pressure was 122/72, and the eczema has disappeared, and the pants now fit perfectly! BTW, I am 74 years young and have been shooting my age in golf on a regular basis. Thanks so much from a fellow Tennessean (HooDoo, TN)😃

I'm diabetic. I started keto in January. My triglycerides were over 600. Had my blood work last weekend and they were 157!! I was at 295lbs. I'm now at 256lbs. My A1C was 8.5. Now it's 7.5. Getting lower!Thank you Dr. Berry! You got me on this.

600? Dang mine are at 176 (should be at 150) The holidays got me lazy eating. Back to a low carb diet & exercise 3x a week & I'll be back in range in a few months.

I'm also diabetic and struggle with Dunlap disease. I try to keep my insulin low. My triglycerides are also high.

@@mikewheatley2739 This comment of mine was from a year ago. 256lbs was my lowest weight. I had gotten off of keto only because I always made my bacon and eggs for my next day lunch the evening before. That's all I ate. Family came into a hard spot and needed to move into our basement quick. I worked on making my basement to make it an apartment with a bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. Did all the studding and drywall myself along with the plumbing. I usually got home from work around 5PM and worked on the basement until 10-11PM and then went to bed. So I didn't have time to make my lunch for the next day. This threw me out of KETO. I'm back at it though. My weight on 1-3-22 was 285LBS. Today, I'm at 275LBS. So I've lost 10LBS in my first month. I will cook a pound of bacon, ground sausage or scrapple. Also scramble up 6 eggs. Eat that at lunch time. And that's all I eat. I fast for the other 23.5 hours of the day.

I had two poached eggs with home fries and toast for three decades at the same diner and never got fat or sick....till I got old..I have dropped the toast and potatoes. And added bacon. I learned a lot from this guy and a couple others. My arthritis hardly ever bothers me anymore and I have much of my old energy back. 69. Gracias doc!

If you read her book she explains if your R3 is too high that a T3 thyroid like Cytomel or compounded will lower it.

@@pamelayoung6191 lol took it 2 diff time, once for a yr Did zero I need to do Wilson’s Protocol but couldn’t find an MD willing to do it with me 🤷🏼‍♀️ (no ins to pay for ND, etc-so can’t pay for them) So I stay freezing, fat and foggy headed.

Damn, Doc....I was NOT expecting that serenade. 🤣 Synopsis 1) Shop the outer aisles of grocery stores, where most of the natural food/produce is. 2) Choose whole foods with largely ONE ingredient. Processed garbage = dozens of ingredients 3) Don't drink carbs and sweeteners. 4) Eat one gram of protein per kg of your body weight within a day. 5) Eat sufficient appropriate fats - butter, fatty meats, and NON-processed oils, NO seed oils. 6) Eat sufficient quality real salt - One of Doc's favorites: Redmond 7) Recognize sugar addictions - they should reduce the more consistent one is with the low carb/high fat way of eating. 8) Limit alcohol to one carb free serving per day, IF at all. 9) Stop all sugars whether procesed/added/natural (yes, even fruit) 10) Incorporate intermittent fasting into your life, preferrably at least 16 hours per fast. ***BONUS*** 11) Avoid protein bars/shakes. They're almost always high in carbs.

misottovoce ... I’m sure there are many like me who prefer to do both: listen to the full presentation while following a written list of points at the same time. It helps me to remember each points. Classroom instructors and business speakers have been doing this forever when using handouts and overhead or digital slides during their presentations. Im assuming the making of this list was probably done for that reason and not to encourage someone to avoid listening to the video for themselves.

Keto and Carnivore really work!! In the last 18 months, I have lost 95 lbs, 8 meds and 3 doctors without any exercise! No exercise! I started on Keto and continued to have gut problems. 9 months ago on our 44th wedding anniversary, I had listened to Dr Berry daily and done research daily. Jack khol for breakfast I eat 3 eggs fried in bacon grease with 3 thick slices of bacon, for dinner a ribeye or hamburger steak, and for supper 1 hard boiled egg and 2 thick slices of summer sausage. Drink water when I’m thirsty and plenty of salt on eggs and steaks. It takes a while for your body to become fat dependent so give it time. The weight, for me, came off at 1 to 2 lbs per week average. Watch Dr Berry’s Carnivore videos and let your body balance itself. Get ready to see your 6 pack appear!

Are medications stopping your weight loss? I found that to be true and the first meds I weaned myself off of was the statin drugs. My heart doctor threw a fit but I told him putting numerous stints in the same patient was the definition of insanity and I did not believe in the cholesterol hoax that big pharma is preaching. I kept researching the meds and slowly dropped them one at a time, all the time paying attention to what my body was telling me.

Thank you Dr. Berry! I'm actually 9 weeks on the Carnivore, the first 4 weeks I cheated 2 to 4 times, but been doing really good past 5 weeks. I got my Keto Chow electrolytes today in the mail and incorporating them tomorrow. I have been eating ribeye every day for 9 weeks, twice a day. I had bacon maybe 5 times. I am getting Ghee in the mail on Friday. I quit using Himalaya salt 2 days ago as it was making me extremely thirsty. I have been eating eggs every day except past 2 days. I can't afford grass fed beef. I live on my social security and spend$300 a month on my ribeye. I'm almost 70 and for past 16 months I've been cleaning fishing cabins and property manager at a fishing lodge. I was a secretary for 35 years and hadn't worked for 12 years. I'm definitely seeing improvement in my inflammation, my last blood pressure reading 2 weeks ago was 120/78. I'm not on any medication. Thank you Dr. Berry, I'm learning alot from you!❤️❣️❣️👍👍👍

Hi Dianne , I'm in the same boat as far as income . To same money I asked my grocery store butcher for beef fat trimmings and eat half as much of the ribeye while adding in the beef trimming at only 1.60 per pound , saves money and actually easier on my body . look up videos on adding more fate to the carnivore diet . It also help me with my stomach pains , heartburn and headaches. Good luck

Vicki, l eat mostly carnivore - meats, cheese, eggs, cream, water (64 oz/day), coffee with cream. Two - three times/week, I will eat non-starchy vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, spinach, greens, etc. I also only eat until I am sated, so when Dr. Berry says, "eat a lot" I really don't. I am using intermittent fasting as well, so only one meal/day.

The above works, and also it switches ON the brain. It' amazing. Also adding a tip : when you are about 14 hours fasting, take a little coffee, then go for a gentle walk, then realise how life is exquisite and full of luck and wonders. This is the end of stress, the end of anxiety, the end of hunger, weight is lifted from the mind, that or ten millions, I choose that.

I've following dr. berry for almost 2 years and i've done everything that he said... Especially when it comes to diabetes... Before, i used to be obessed and have a very high glucose level... now my sugar is normal, without medication. Yes you heared it right not a single one of those so called medicines for diabetics... And now im still doing my 23 hours fast every single day... Thanks all to dr berry...

I dropped down from an obscene weight at my 5'-8" height of 181lbs to 165lbs in 2 months. My wife lost 15lbs as well. My wife is 5ft 4i" and she lost 15lbs. in the same 2 months. We have more energy and look physically fit with little work out. My mom and step dad are now on board at 72 years of age and are in amazement how they feel. Meat fat with salt (bacon, ribeye, eggs, Boar's head beef bologna, hot dogs, brisket with chuck beef burgers with sugar free bacon, eggs cooked in bacon grease and chicken thighs. Salt does not give you high blood pressure. It's a lie like they say. It's the sugars and carbs that create the arterial inflammation that creates the vessel tension that creates the high blood pressure. Eggs and steak gives you natural testosterone which in the morning gives your a boos of energy.

I found you (Dr. Berry) literally a couple weeks ago and you have changed my life! 12 days in and I am down 9.5 pounds. For so long I have felt like a failure doing the keto diet with great results at first and then nothing. Ketosis strips did not help either! Always said trace or negative....I wasn't doing anything wrong...my body was fat adapted .Then when I took your advice about IF and how to melt belly fat wholly smolly game changer! I thought getting out of morbidly obese was huge, now I am severely obese. Not for long! My BMI daily is dropping and I will be just overweight soon. I'm not stopping there. I am forever grateful. I’m down for 208 lbs to 192 lbs from 3 weeks of ketogenic dieting and 18/6 intermittent fasting , and this is without any extra exercise outside of my physical job of commercial electrician. now I need to work on recipes and verities of different meals to make that are keto friendly. Thank you Dr. Berry. I've been struggling with IBS since I was a Freshman in High school (so about 7 years). I've been tired, lethargic and down right a pain to be around because i always wanted to lay in bed. I tried everything you could possibly think of to help my IBS but nothing worked. Back in April i switch to a Gluten Free diet. I was still having symptoms. Then i also cut out dairy. Wanted to die and i still had syptoms. Gluten free and dairy free stuff is claimed to be a "health-food" that is false advertising if ive ever seen it. I will never go back to that. I am doing carnivore right now and maybe later along the line add a few veggies back in to accompany the meat. I've lost 7lbs in a week and a half. I feel amazing, im actually getting outside and working on our house projects with my husband when before i barely had enough energy to make coffee. I feel amazing and its all because of you and your advise! Thank you!

Thank You, Dr Berry. I’m tired of waking up feeling defeated. I am going to binge watch these KZbin videos and get started on Keto again. I did it before and felt awesome but then my mom passed and it derailed me. That was two years ago. But I think it’s the carb addiction that is adding major depressive thoughts of ever losing this weight again.

Eat more salt! YES! 4:44 "Many times when you get cravings, your body is REALLY just craving salt". It's SO good to finally hear what I've thought for years. I've had perfect blood pressure all my life, and I noticed that my night time cravings are actually just for salt, but I used to eat a bunch of food JUST to get that salt. Now I can have just some salt alone and my 'hunger' goes away. I think I drink so much fluid during the day that it might be removing salt from my system, and a quick "pick me up" hit of salt does the tick and I don't eat as much now. THANK YOU!!!

Yep, so true. However it must be REAL salt and not the refined, pure sodium chloride stuff most people use.

Actually, if you're eating low enough carb to lose weight, you will need more salt. The metabolic chemical reactions within the cell when it's in fat-burning mode requires more sodium, than when it's doing the carb-burning cycle.

One thing I learned on the Keto + IF is that the body will focus on burning the fat in the organs first before the stomach. It took many months for my stomach to even start getting smaller. Long way to go but I'll keep going.

The key is also to do a minimum of 36 hour-48 hour fasts every other day or every now and then. Really get your liver to empty up

Thanks. I really needed this comment. I’ve been on carnivore for almost 3 months. I switched to lion a few weeks ago. I still haven’t lost any weight, but your comment helps me to hang in there. I know my body is dealing with the most important things first.

@@CG-mj8tk Like anything with the body I'm going as slow as possible only 0.5-1.0 lbs a week. Stomach more or less the same. Its my Genetics that decide what get burn first, but I'm rolling with it.

In november of 2019 I went full Keto, I weighed 162 lbs and wore tight fitting 34 inch waist pants. Today I weigh 147 lbs and wear loose fitting 32 inch waist pants, and the belly is almost gone! Thank You Dr. Berry!

A million thank yous' to you Dr Berry and to Neisha. I'm 4 days away from being 30 days in to carnivore. I've dropped 8 lbs and 1 1/2" off my stomach so far. I have a very dear friend who I keep sharing your videos with but she keeps telling me none of it applies to her because she is type 1 diabetic. I understand the difference between type one and type two oh, but I can't see how your videos could not help her especially because she is suffering diabetic related problems.

@@KenDBerryMD have read the Mayo clinic preliminary research of olive oil, 2Tbs for maintenance and 4Tbs reversing CHF, HF. Most of the supposed Drs websites say they can't diagnose on line. Is my question actually a diagnosis? To me it is not. It's for opinion.

All he says is true. I follow his advice and am losing weight at the rate of 1 pound a week. So far 12 pounds and never hungry. No more craving for the sweets either. I do go to the gym at least once a week but it is just to keep strength up. 76 years old, live on my boat in a great marina, I will soon lose the extra 20 pounds and be back to my normal weight of 160. Once you try this way of eating, you will not want to go back to your old ways. I feel much better when I wake up in the morning now.

Good list overview. May I add that #4 is missing an element. Eat 1 gram of protein per your kg of body weight. So, if someone weighs say, 180 lbs, that is 82kg. In essence, he is aaying eat 82grams of protein.

@@LordStanley94 Good addition but you still have something missing 😊 May a add that the 1 gr' of protein per 1 Kg of body weight is for the ideal weight. So, if someone weighs 92 Kg but his ideal weight is 72 Kg he should eat 72 gr' of protein.

1- grocery shopping: stick to outer walls when shopping: eggs, meats, cheese 2- chose only one ingredient foods; ribeye, broccoli, liver 3- don’t drink carbohydrates; soft drink, fruit juices…full of sugar 4- eat at least one gram protein per body weight (per kilogram)daily 5- eat more fat: most satiating 6- eat plenty of real salt; when u get a craving it’s really for a salt or mineral 7- recognize your sugar addiction; defeat it!!! 8- limit your alcohol intake to one drink per day; of course the recommended daily amount, and it has zero carbs 9- stop all sugars; added or natural 10- implement some degree of intermittent fasting; 16/8: eat 8 hours, no eating 16 hours 11- avoid protein bars and protein shakes; high in carbs Bonus: pick one of 2 diets to try 1- KETO 2- CARNIVORE 😉

Isolate protien is ok. Mix with water. Sometimes in life we need that quick protien after a workout so we can get back at what we are doing like work and life etc.

I’m less than a minute in and Dr. Berry has already made me feel better about losing this fat. He makes me feel like I’m not stuck where I am and if I can lose this fat and get healthy that I can basically prevent myself from having a heart attack. That I can heal my body.

I used to scoured the shopping catalogues for weekly sales of my fav foods and now, I don’t even bother to look at any foods on sale unless theyre veggies or meat. I hardly buy any foods from the middle aisles, except olive oil. Vinegar, mustard and pet food. I rarely even shop as one meal or two meals a day doesn’t take as much food. Plus I bought all my grass fed meat from the butcher and I’ve started to grow my own veg. Who says a diet has to be hard or expensive. Keto and IF diets are inexpensive and healthy. I’ve lost 88 pounds in 4 months and reversed all of my life threatening illnesses.

I went on a carnivore diet with eggs and block cheese a year ago, and doing one meal a day, I lost 54lbs! I had a full box of pants to donate to goodwill! You have to cut carbs/sugars!

I had a quadruple by-pass on Feb 3rd 2021, and 3 weeks in ICU. Home recovering. Point is, in ICU I was given mainly carbohydrates. Fruit juice, jello, porridge, bread, potatoes, mac 'n cheese very little protein like chicken, beef etc. Blew my mind

Thank you thank you so much. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes last year and weighed ~260lbs. I had no idea what to do to help me reverse this and lose the weight. I discovered the keto diet through your videos and decided to give it a go. The pounds began flying off with keto along with mild exercise. This week I was able to get under 200lbs. My pre-diabetes has been reversed and I feel happier and healthier. Thank you so much

I like this Dr. He acknowledges that food that has been messed about with messes you up. Taking away the blame and the shame from the fat person does make a difference to the self esteem issue. The psychology of being fat is often ignored. The nutritional information is pretty much standard stuff, but I like the way that it has been re-packaged to the geography of the food store set up. It's also good that the myth of the protein bar is dispelled.

I was a right fat wader until about a year ago then started eating better; increased fats and proteins plus going to the gym about 3-4 times a week. I’ve lost about 25kg (55lbs) in about 12 months and I even look younger. My sister on the other hand has gone the opposite route; low fat/low protein everything in addition to being sedentary, and as soon as she gets drunk will proceed to eat a full block of cheese. She is now morbidly obese and has loads of health issues even though she’s only 3 years older than me (I’m 32 she’s 35). My biggest tip would be to try and get into some kind of routine with this stuff. I don’t keep bread or snacks in the house at all so it’s not even an option. And where possible if you can walk somewhere walk, it’s all these small changes that add up. If somewhere is less than a 30-minute walk away, why are you using your car? Get some decent shoes and get your ass in gear.

Thank you dr berry I followed the keto 101 I have lost 20 pounds, my a1c dropped from 5.9 to 5.6 in 3 weeks My cholesterol and triglyceride levels were always in a good normal range but the notion of eating steaks bacon ham eggs I always ate 6 to 9 eggs a week, which keeps my thyroid healthy

I saw a program promoting Extripure. I may not be spelling this correctly. It is promoting 8 herbs from the Island of Cat Ba. The presenter was talking about brown fat we are born with as babies and as we age it turns into white fat. It is a program I was interested in learning more about until I saw your video. I don’t have a lot to lose. I am a heart patient and I think this pill may not be for me. Dr. Berry, I appreciate your videos. I am a teacher and I do not have health insurance. I can verify the effects on you memory. I thought my lack of short term memory was me just getting older. After learning this may be a side effect I stopped taking statins. Within 2 weeks I started noticing my memory was improved. The other side effect I didn’t hear you mention is anxiety and muscle pain. After stopping statins I again noticed that I was not as anxious and muscle pains I had been attributing to getting older went away.

Have you heard of, or purchased Sophia’s Survival Food? She makes INCREDIBLE grass fed beef jerky! Check it out when you don’t have time to make your own. She too used basic ingredients like salt, pepper and lemon juice.

Great video. Especially the very end. Thanks for this. I've been on YT for a few years but just started seeing Dr Berry and Dr Chaffee videos and I'm fascinated with them. I'm type 2 diabetic and I've had stomach surgery, also been eating protein shakes and bars, salads for several years. The surgery helped me lose 40lbs pretty quick but that was a tough few months of eating broth and sugar free jello. I was miserable. I started adding in snacks because they were easy to digest. I would snack on chips/crackers. I figured that wouldn't hurt anything and I always heard that snacking all day keeps your metabolism up. Not true. My metabolism stayed low. My glucose stayed high. I was temporarily off my diabetic meds after surgery but the snacking made me have to get back on them. So a year after surgery, I only lost the initial 40 lbs and held steady. Feeling like crap every day. Very tired, no energy. So now I'm into keto and easing into carnivore. I lost 12 lbs in two weeks but now in a plateau. I'm sticking with this plan because I really feel like it's the right path. I'm sleeping much better. Feeling much better. My family brings carbs into the house so there's been a few times I've fallen off the wagon just a bit but back on again. The knowledge I'm getting from Dr Berry and Chaffee is priceless. It gives me the confidence I need to stick with this. I've since seen a lot of YT videos trying to discredit all of this. Not believing any of that. I do believe there is a propaganda campaign to get us to eat a certain way. Meatless. I'm cutting out most plants and as many carbs as I can. I'm sharing info too but people immediately think this is crazy, not a proper diet, unsustainable. I'm going to prove them wrong. I've eaten this way in the past but only as a fad diet. Not thinking that this was the way we are supposed to eat. I want to prove to my children that it is the way to eat. I want to extend my life too. My health has not been the greatest. My friends and coworkers close to my age are starting to die off. I would love to extend my life several more years. I think this is the way if I can come off my meds and fix most of my health issues. Thank God we have this media source for these good docs to share this information with us.

Time for all dietitians, around the world, to watch Dr. Berry's videos. They are still recommending diets high in fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Will they ever learn?

Dunlap😂. I was all ears and serious then with a straight face you said “Dunlap means your belly done lapped over your waist”. Great advice and I’m in process of losing belly fat.

Great video Doc, but I think you're missing something that I'm starting to implement now that so many trainers have been suggesting for years - get out and WALK!! Regardless of diet, going for a Mark Bell style, moderate-intensity walk outside for 10-20 minutes daily will do more than an hour in any gym (that isn't even open right now). I've been struggling with my belly fat lately, even on a carnivore diet (do KetoBricks count?) and just in the past week started to incorporate walking daily for 15-20 minutes. The pouch looks less already!!! The most annoying weight-loss hack may be the easiest!!

You are a smart man. Walking on a sunny day kills two birds with one stone as they say. You will get in your daily dose of vitamin D for the day and the walking will help you burn those extra calories per day. I am also a big fan of Mark Bell style.

I love this man! I am 10kgs down in 4mths and im looking so good in my clothes! The points he lists were always how I lived when I was in my late teens and early 20's. I had a supermodels body and felt great. I was told I didn't eat right or enough! I did what others said and I ended up huge and alone!! I dont need to be that thin anymore but if it happens, I'll be dead chuffed, haha!!

Nice! For me it was slow at first from 290 pounds. After I hit the 250's and under, I Started losing weight faster and faster, Now at 233 and losing 3-4 pounds a week effortlessly. My diet consists of 20 OZ of meat a day, mainly beef steaks and strips, 6-7 eggs, 1 kiwi fruit, beef organs, eggshell dust and I eat all that in 1-2 meals within a 2-3 hour period. The rest of the time of the day im fasting with potassium sups while adding my own salt to it. It's got potassium, calcium, magnesium (really important with potassium) and abunch of other trace minerals.

Okay, I laughed out loud with the 'dunlap' comment. Question, do you have any additional suggestions for post mentalpausal women retaining belly fat, even when following Keto to the letter, as well as all of your recommendations? Just wondering if there is anything additional for us hormone-challenged women. I have lost 35+ pounds since January and am close to my goal number, but still have a small amount of belly fat that just doesn't want to leave me!

I'll be 32 sunday, and started to take my health seriously. For the first time I've committed and down 22lbs since last month following keto. I'm not nearly as hungry, cravings are way down and I dont feel like I'm missing a thing! My bp has already lowered from 140s now to 118s! as well as my pulse from 90 to 100 and now in the lower 80s! 9 inches from my waist gone! In one month! With all of that said, before my ankles would swell and the swelling has decreased! However I added Himalayan salt to my water and boy the next day my ankles blew up! I'm struggling to find my balance. Any tips in regards to salt and ankle swelling? Thanks for your time and information and helping us all get our life back!

For me epson salt helps, magnesium helps with joints

Magnesium helped me. If not consuming or not absorbing enough magnesium the body will be holding the water in order not to flush it out. I had issues with periodic swelling in my legs for decades since my early 20s. During exercise I would usually swell instead of sweat :) if drinking a lot of water. I have been taking magnesium for 6 months now and have not had any swellings ever since. I also started to sweat during exercise and not afraid to drink water. Magnesium also lowered my resting heart rate from mid 80s to mid 70’s. Potassium also could be an issue, but in my case it was magnesium.
