You sent so many comments, questions and I have added several safety tips here to guide you.
JUMP AHEAD TIMELINE GUIDE:
0:27 - BASIC OVERVIEW (have a look at the way I prepare my space and my #incenseburner burner)
0:57 - MATERIALS (These are the materials I use)
1:20 - PUT IT ALL TOGETHER (quick #howto guide to putting all the pieces together to light your incense)
1:48 - IGNITING (Lighting the charcoal disk safely and effectively)
1:58 - CLOSE UP (have look at the charcoal disk igniting and burning through)
2:27 - CHOOSING YOUR RESINS (and placing them on your charcoal)
2:58 - SAFETY TIP #1 Have a window or door open near by. If your burning material is too smoky you can place the incense burner there for safety
3:15 - SAFETY TIP #2 Use a double layer of protection for burning your charcoal disk incense
3:45 - SAFETY TIP #3 Lighting the charcoal, good quality charcoal burns evenly and easily. Light one end only and use tongs to handle the disk and place it on your burner
4:24 - SAFETY TIP #4 Using twigs and dried herbs creates a lot of smoke right away but burns off quickly. Resins take a few minutes to burn down but burn a long time.
4:55 - SAFETY TIP #5 Lid from your burner container can get very hot. Always test new containers with oven gloves or heat proof gloves until you have confirmed your vessel lid stays cool during the entire burning period
6:05 - BE PATIENT #Charcoalburning takes up to 20 minutes. The disk may take 4-5 minutes to heat up all the way through. You may see the disk glowing red. The surface, even if black, is extremely hot. Use a twig, wood or a kitchen tool to move around the resins.
6:45 - RECAP & MATERIALS LIST (recipe list of basic materials to have on hand, screengrab this for reference or to share)
7:15 BONUS TIP - Move aside resin or herbs to stop burning them at any time. Use a twig or heat safe kitchen tool.
7:35 VISITING THE BIG GOLDEN BUDDHA - Pattaya, Thailand. Sacred, traditional offerings and prayers. #glimpseofthailand
Basic instruction to get you started on creating your own incense oasis and healing space. Charcoal disks are great to use with dried resins, small dried wood chips and powders. I show you my favourite combination of resins and dried herbs for my spiritual incense medley.
