I am Latina and I am completely IN LOVE and amazed at Nigerian music. So much Latino music is Afro influenced because of the heavy Afro presence rooted from the slave trade. It has Spanish influence from Spaniard colonization but the “flavor “ is Afro..... but I never hear anyone admitting it. Music was born in Africa. It’s why everyone is catching on now , because the sounds move us all. It’s Africa’s time to shine ❤️❤️❤️

Palmerita Turururu say it in English so everyone else can understand. Calling me “ignorant” won’t take away from the fact that the African rhythm (not just afro beat of today) has made its way through most Latino American countries. Take Honduras and their Punta for example.. do your research. It originated from Garifuna people.. slaves from St. Vincent that made their way through all of Central America . Take Puerto Rico and their Bomba music.. that’s just me naming 2 of many examples. If you do your research, so much of what is “Latino “ rhythm in general has origins from the African Diaspora. Colombia has close to 5 million people considered to be a part of the African Diaspora. Venezuela containing 3 million. You’d be the ignorant one to believe that the African rhythm in general hasn’t influenced what is considered “spanish” music today. This is what I mean by no one I know admits it. They take it as their own culture when if you truly research the origins you’d understand.

I agree. It is time Nigeria take their African Giant self-proclaimed phrase to action. The potential is there but crooks and criminals in government are sabotaging our greatness. We don tire abeg. It is time to put that African Giant to fruition through 21st century infrastructures like roads, hospitals, steady electricity, manufacturing. It is sad that till today our oil is still being refined elsewhere. We don tire abeg!!
