I am from the multi island nation of St .Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean where the British exiled King Jaja of Opobo. The Super Eagles have always been my FAVORITE African team. Moreover, my favorite book of all time is "Things Fall Apart" by the late great Chinua Achebe. I was even drawn to Afrobeat and Fela. I said all that to say this, before I took my African DNA test, I said that the result is going to be some connection to Nigeria. When I got the result back, I just smiled. I smiled even bigger because of what it said. The report says, "Using the largest set of African mtDNA samples available today, we found identical, 100%, matches for you with the mtDNA of Ibo people." It so happened that, before I took my test, I discovered Burna Boy back in January 2020. And as the saying goes, the REST is HISTORY.

@@theancientvoice9272 not to the rest of the world! Why do they call us 3rd world, sh*tholes and keep killing black people even in 2020? In my experience, cultural appropriation is more prevalent right now because the African vibe is a trend right now - music, food, dance, clothing etc.
@theancientvoice92724 жыл бұрын
@@teemaro5703 Agree, but I care about what Africans think first to be honest. Those who want to change other people who behave a certain way for centuries are waisting their time in my humble opinion. Africa is my world, we didn't create pornography, we didn't make war and weapons a successful business, we didn't invade others but ourselves, we didn't deny others their rights to live as human being and the list is long. We have nothing to prove.
@teemaro57034 жыл бұрын
@@theancientvoice9272 Let me respond with questions...how many people born in the 2000s and 2010s are ashamed of being African and don't want to speak their home language but can twang in French or English? How many rappers and artistes in Africa are trying to sound so American? Let's not forget that due to inequality we also have Africans who were born in the diaspora - personally I've only started seeing them have more pride in their roots now more than ever. Even some African Americans are thinking of moving to Africa, yet before it never really crossed most of their minds. That's my opinion, based on observation anyway.

For people that don’t understand what Burna is talking about in this song, he is basically talking about his musical journey and how he feels he is the greatest. He also talks about some of the obstacles he faces and how there are lots of haters and hypocrites trying to tear him down and discredit him but he isn’t afraid... He sings in English, Pidgin English and Yoruba .

Jiggy One listen bro, I’m a Nigerian and it’s too bad you think the way you do. All Nigerians don’t think like you do, when I meet Ghanaians I see nothing but my brothers and sisters, even if I’m a Ghanaian why would I feel envious? Ghana success is African success and Nigerian success is African success. I live in the state and African American success is also an African success. Sarkodie is underrated, are you talking about the Nigerian rappers who wanna be Americans in Africa? Or are you talking about S.A rappers who are professional American rappers in Africa? Chill and put some respect on Sark.
@kelreal37554 жыл бұрын
Jiggy One you have enough time on your side, calling me ignorant and delusional? I’m in a level and position where I don’t have to insult anyone on KZbin, you don’t know me, unhappy people with no life achievements do that a lot. To finish my point, I like sarkodie and he deserves more recognition in the African space. You are not more Nigerian than myself because you live in Nigeria so enjoy your living in Nigeria and stop bringing people down with any chance you have but instead give your opinion. Bye my friend.
