I use to hate how you would never go note for note, but by listening to more tutorials, I realize it has helped me learn how to note solely rely on being shown the notes played, but to figure it out on by own. It has really helped me train my ear to note coordination, so I must thank you.

This popped up because I was watching some BOC covers, but finally does some get a lesson video right! I've seen many people do lesson videos, and they pretty much play through a part/section once, then spend a few minutes spoon-feeding it to the viewer. Yes, it's helpful if it's a simple song to beginners, but not a seasoned player. It's a lot better with what you're doing: Play the song, but take the sections at a slower pace so the viewer can figure it out themselves. If I remember correctly, I saw your cover/lesson of Synchronicity II by The Police, and it made me realize I was playing an incorrect chord for the longest time. Keep at it with the great lessons!

I agree, Mr. Sagemaster (visit YourGuitarSage) learning pages before attempting songs you are not ready for..plus being prepared leaves less frustration and better learning habits when you start with 'The Sages' starter lessons..can't explain every dang pull off, hammer, bend, slide, mute, or chord when teaching a song. It kinda gets old listening to someone saying, "index finger b the second string 1st fret, open 3rd string from the bottom, theg string, middle finger d string second fret, index finger 3rd fret A string 5th that is second from the top now dont strum the E string the top one." Wow all that for someone who has not learned open c, "right on, " learn that fretboard. Some refreshing simple ideas here in this lesson. Glad to hear those words. Makes for fast track learning too! Yahoo we like quick learning... Lol...sorry I'm being mean.

For beginners, There are 11 notes, - A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F, F#, G. - They just repeat the same pattern as you go up the neck. Notice that hey all have a # in between them except B and C, and E and F. There you go, keep that in mind and then you already know all the notes. For example, in standard tuning you start with the open strings and their order is E, A, D, G, B, E going from the bottom string, (The thickest one) to the top string. So if you are on the open A string you use the example I gave you and the first note would be an A#. Same for all the other strings. If you count them all right you will end up at the same note at the 12th fret as the open string you started at, but will be in the next octave from there up. So at the 12th fret they are all the same notes you had with the open strings, E, A, D, G, B, E but you have just gone up 1 octave from where you started. The trick here is to get familiar with where they are enough that you don't need to count them anymore. What is a flat? Well it's actually the same note as the sharp from the previous note. For example, an A# and a B flat are the same note. Technically, If you are going up the neck they are called sharps, going down the neck they are called flats. Sounds confusing at first, but It really doesn't matter as long as you got the right note. This same pattern works for all instruments. Test yourself; pick a random note and then figure out what that note is. It is important that you keep testing yourself with every practice. Playing an instrument is infinite repetition. How do these people get so good at playing? Well they play the same thing over and over again, hundreds and thousands of times. Just like anything else you do, the more times you do it the better you get at it. Take a series of notes and play them until they all sound nice, then repeat as many times as you can. If you have the desire to play like a pro then realize this from the beginning. Nobody just starts off playing great, it is from many times of playing things repeatedly until it becomes smooth.

When you play in a band how do you keep in time do you listen to the bass drum or ?? Think you
@braydonnix5458
@braydonnix5458 3 жыл бұрын
Well first you might want to start practicing more with a metronome. I remember my first time with a band my time was HORRIBLE. But if you keep playing with different members of the band you can start to learn how to keep in time. It’s just practice and what I did was practice only with my drummer and I got better. Then I just listened to mainly the snare and kinda just felt the beat. I am by no means a rhythm player, but just feeling the drums and listening to them is really how I do it.
