I'm not saying this video is a prime example, but one of the things I like about your channel Chris, is the humour. Your banter with Justin, and to a lesser extent, Tim, always puts a smile on my face. You don't take yourself too seriously, and you like to smile and laugh. You are are also so fluid with your machine control, it's as close as excavators can get to ballet. Poor Justin has a long way to go before he can match your skills, but you are never unkind to him, which makes you all the nicer as a person. If we are allowed to mention Andrew Camarata here, then he probably has better camera and editing skills, and he does not have such nice equipment, but I have a feeling you could teach him a thing or two about construction. I also have a feeling that Andrew is going to overtake and leap ahead of your subscription tally, so you need to get a dog to stay in front. ;-)

I have sharpened blades on a big V8 chipper after it looked like they chipped a few piles of stuff like that. I suppose it depends on where you live, but it looked to me like there had to have been rocks in the dirt that ran thru the chipper blades I have sharpened. Not very cost effective at all to have to buy a chipper, then pay someone to fix it after you tear it up.

That looked almost poetic that bucket full of smoke... I wonder if you can blow smoke rings with that bucket...??.... and I agree there's no need for need for an extra fan, but if you dig just a couple of air vents in the side of the burn pit it will burn even hotter - except you got it plenty hot already and you probably don't want it too hot and exciting so you burn down your digger if it stalls out...

I just came across your KZbin channel. It's very hot and dry here in Western Washington State, lots of vegetation fires are keeping the fire departments busy . Burn bans in place , fart towards dry grass or trees probably would start a fire. It's crazy we're known for rain, it needs to come back this heat crap is not for me. Also, I have to say I am impressed with your operator skills. I too became a excavator operator the other day. While I may not like the heat we decided it was a good time to start redoing our yard. So with my expertise with operating antique Gibson tractors at my dad's house as a kid. As well as my knowledge of the equipment I use in my career ( Pierce , Spartan, Seagrave etc fire apparatuses as well as all of our equipment). I decided to rent a mini excavator from home depot. Ahhh yes I became one with powers of excavation. Sadly the stupid mini excavator I rented wasn't so experienced as I. The little SOB got arragont and tried to climb a hill that the warning label clearly said not to. I tried to convince him not to attempt it but he went against my advice. He also didn't like me telling him what not to do. So the SOB jerked around , tossed me off, jammed his controls into my side and tossed me onto his track and onto the ground. He has great aim because I landed on a rock. I decided to let tempers calm and go inside to the nice A.C. and chill out with my parrot. I realized taking a deep breath was like taking a knife to my side. I examined myself to see a bruise forming quickly with some moderate swelling. It was probably safe to say it was time to go to Urgent Care. Being a ff/emt and living within my district I refused to call for assistance because that Kubota already caused bruises and I'd be damned if I let B shift see this and spread the word to A and C shifts. Urgent Care referred me to the emergency room where of course my wife works as a nurse. I hesitate and go, she of course sees my name and inquiries about what happened. ( she had to wait to ask me after another nurse had given me 2 doses of dillaudid aka truth serum) she is relieved I'm ok and then gives me " the look" ( patient abuse? ) As I'm rolled back from xray and ct naturally I have to see the B shift medic and another ff from my station. Of course like school girls they have to begin to text and call. Hour later here comes 4 guys from my shift ( one being my battalion chief). Sympathy was far from existence but jokes and laughter a aplenty. So I have a few broken ribs, a couple shifts off work, then a couple light duty desk shifts. Been grounded by wife from any near future excavator rentals. Yes this is a long winded Percocet fueled comment. But I'm bored, parrot sitting beside me, drinking coffee , surfing KZbin and Netflix because there's nothing on tv. Just thought I'd share with you, I'll let you have the job of using such equipment. 😆😁

You have more knowledge of and about people and methods to keep you running just fine. I was wondering if you watched the video of Andrew the castle maker use a new bobcat attachment that splits big big rounds and also stumps to get the dirt out... nice if you have the time to do such things but at the end he was fair handy with it moving what he split with the end of that chopping device. that would split a alaska cabbage plant up to dice and mix salad out of. He is always trying something new course he's a millionaire for sure and millionaire doesn't know about the real meaning of money, his jobs are just hobbies. I do think he earned his money for sure though and he has two dogs, not just one but two and he is a nice guy. I get a kick out of the way he thinks they ought to make a truck last a million miles. Your "one big ass fire looked like it would take a radiator out at two hundred feet. Once they take off it is harder to make it quit burning in a way.... You ever try a clam shell on a long stick?? whole new rules, I found you keep swinging and go round and round dip.. pick swing release and do it again an again... very tiring and when the pile is higher than you can throw you eat a bite. I remember doing this at night and the fire was way way high in the air and then all the sudden it just collapsed and it was like dynamite going off as it kind of rumbled and belched then was a glowing fire ball.. very hot an pretty cool to see. A woodpecker will have to pack a lunch to fly over what you all cleaned

Why do you burn it? Why don't you hire a woodchipper or make someone come get it so it can be used as fuel to warm houses or whatever? Is this more cost efficient really? I have a similar job in Sweden, but here we get a woodchipper, and we usually break even, maybe even make a few bucks but usually not. But it spares us a lot of time.

To expensive and time consuming for him and not a market for chip in the area.
