In the original story that never was really expanded upon Genesys kills Sonic in Marble Zone Act 3 and his charred corpse glitches out and becomes one of his henchmen, so I guess here when Genesys rams into him he just loses another life but still respawns as a fucked up burnt corpse puppet

If you don't know: SHP!Sonic and Genysys both got their start after Revie drew Sonic burning up, leaving him as a charred corpse on March 8th, 2021. Genysys was drawn some time later. The original plan for Burning in Vs. Sonic.EXE only had Genesys singing, with Sonic not being part of the song. The two different voices were meant to be Genesys' calm and aggressive state, respectively. Despite this, the two voices can be clearly heard dueting during the song proper. Burning is a high-effort version of same song, "Burning" composed by Adam McHummus, originally started as a scrapped song for Vs. Sonic.Exe, and as a fanmade animation; soon become a completed "high-effort" version of Burning. The song is mainly based off "SONIC HAS PASSED". SHP Sonic or Burning Sonic is a burnt cadaver of Sonic given to life thanks to Genesys who burnt him alive only to be controlled. Burning Sonic appears damaged and destroyed, and blown off portions of his quills and head. He also has burn marks around his gloves and body. He also seems more grayed cadaver of Sonic, missing his eyes, exposed teeth and having gray fur, skin, and gloves. His shoes are grayed as well. Alright here's the backstory so basically in this version of sonic I'm not sure what game it is there is a parasite that was out hunting for sonic none as Genesys And eventually managed to kill sonic by burning him in marble zone or so it's thought later on it took the form of eggman and that's all I know

Genesys is an alien creature similar to Xenophane that instead of creating his own world, he ends up possesing a Sonic 1 Cartridge and taking over Robotnik's code (and the whole game as a consequence), having a huge hatred towards players and only wants to make their playthroughs almost impossible to beat (and so far only 1 player has managed to barely reach the boss fight at the last act of Marble Zone)
