Yes, absolutely! timeless Spear : ) but sadly, song is just as relevant today (if not more so) as it was back in '77 : (

I know this is a fairly older share, but I would love to hear what your thoughts are on the tracks on the same riddim: 1) the DJ version + dub(Bo Jangles) 2) Sinead O'Connor's (rip) 7 with it's accompanying dub(this was tdone with the Taxi Gang - S & R(rip)😢 is) 3)Big Youth cut on the same riddim - track is called Spiderman meets Hulk😮

Hi, Thanks for comment : ) Regarding 1) Am not aware of DJ cut by Bo Jamgles. I am only familiar of his toasting cut to Culture's "Two Sevens Clash" 2) I think Sinead's version is absolutely brilliant! and am sure Winston would agree : ) 3) I think the DJ cut you are referring to is actually by Big Joe (not Big Youth) and entitled "The Prophet" Give thanks for listening and taking the time to comment - Bless!

@@studioseventeen7000 Nuff respect and thanks 🙏. You're 100% accurate. I typed in haste - it's Big Joe. Mine is labelled Respect Jah Word( recorded in mono - I had to alter it to stereo). Thanks for the the correction and the upload. Take a listen to Big Youth riding on the same riddim ( I suspect you already knew about it 😄 - he cut two versions) - though on a slower pitch/tempo). and different lyrics. This one I'm 100% sure of. The beauty of reggae music is just when you think you have it all, say you have 100K tracks, you'll always be surprised by some new roots track you never heard before. My playlist says it Will take me close to 300 years to listen to it 😄. Go figure! I'm always saying reggae and dub will always be the music for the future. The concept of classics doesn't apply! I confused the Bo Jangles toast on Culture's two - 7s track. I had my show on radio and played it a lot. Burning Spears' Down By The River - what a wicked tune. But then again he also cut two different versions!
