This is so relatable, I think Femi and Myriam made the relevant points with actual facts that we're all aware of! I think this is a great channel with amazing topics. Time well spent!! We do need a "revolution" ⚡

I think what a lot of older generations miss about younger peoples attitudes towards the society we live in is lived experience. If your entire life has been recessions, declining living standards, lockdowns, crap jobs with no prospect of buying a house, raising a family, saving for retirement etc why would you be a big fan of two party politics and capitalism?

Great episode. Been a fan of Femi’s work for a long time and agree with all he says (except regarding JC who I believe is the best politician out there). Have been questioning the validity of the U.K. and the wider ‘West’ still using democracy as a descriptor so was really interested to see you discuss it too.

Politicians don't engage with you because they know you are a threat. Politicians who have a potentially life-long career in politics don't want that threatened in any way. If they "try" to engage with young people and come off as out of touch, that might damage them. The more young people work to threaten them the less choice they have BUT to try to engage.

I'm a millennial (37) and of native American and Irish heritage I grew up in the early 2000s and as far back as I can remember I never agreed with the two party system in America. All I can see is divide and conquer with this system (with no real benefits to the civilian population) just power wealth and security for those involved in this horrific government and 1% so until the younger generations wake up and demand this twisted government system change I sadly don't see things getting better for at least my part of the world😢 (can't speak on how the people my age in Europe feel) but I feel that with social media and how much this world is blowing up right now the younger generations are slowly waking up to the dark realities in the systems that control the world and it's my dream that someday the entire world will come together through the new generations and stand together and say enough slaughter division destruction poverty and death✌🏽🫶🏽🌎

That was a really brilliant conversation, rooted in the reality of facts and the abysmal situation we are in. It also left many questions we as viewers can ask ourselves as we try to negotiate our uncertain and unknown futures. I think most people will agree that revolutionary changes are desperately needed, and we need to.find ways of crushing far right leaders particularly Farage in the UK. Also.how can a revolutionary movement build....

Can't wait for the lefty tears when farage becomes the next prime minister

Simple answer to this shit: Tax everything 10%, put all the extra tax in one big pile and divide it evenly among everyone. Unconditional base income for all and wealth inequality will melt away. But this will never happen until being rich isn't seen as godhood

Also! Myriam if you've never listened to the punk band Crass before I highly suggest you check them and their genre of music out 🎵✌🏽🫶🏽 (as I mentioned before I believe there needs to be in the pop culture and music scene a political punk revival right now 🖤) I'm sick of the world being brainwashed by T swift and Bey 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 Macklemores on the right track ❤

So much truth! It's seen as edgy to be "right wing" and being edgy is aspirational watch FD signifier who has done a video on "edge lords"

Don't worry. I grew up mostly in the 70's. I can assure you that the outlook for young people are the time wqs probably bleaker than it is now. Things change. You can make them change in a surprisingly short period of time. By the mid-to-late eighties the outlook had changed substantially. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iIuVoIuwp9Onn5Yfeature=shared
